There are quite a few factors at play this time - each one pulling in a different direction to the next - so prediction is more of a guess. But I am hopeful of better than last year and I think it could even be close to 5% before any bonus.

I'd wager it's 4.5% - 4.75%.

Kind of agree with you. Too low a dividend would spell disaster for those on ASB/ASB2 loan and in turn would put the whole fund in jeopardy.

PNB has difficulties finding good returns for unit holders in an era of low interest rates and lofty valuations.

As the fund portfolio continues to diversify into overseas markets there will be more and more opportunity for the fund manager to invest in areas which will produce higher returns. I have friends who are averaging 11% pa on these type of investments.

Some positive trend is definitely due this time for ASB.

I am thinking of withdrawing my ASNB assets and placing it in another place? The app itself is broken and I cannot even register to see my balance. I don't want to waste my time to go to ASNB every time to see my account details.

Can suggest other places of investing? Shariah compliance better. Right now, I am investing in Waheed invest and TH.

I don't mind risk as long as the governance is good. Where exactly?

Certainly the markets are down but a pro active fund manager would sense opportunity. While the pandemic news means that share prices of airlines are down, it also means that the share prices of home delivery businesses, online shopping businesses etc are up.

Hopefully they will do their due diligence and we would get near to 5%

The recovery has started (albeit with a few bumps in the road) and, whilst I am not expecting to see >6% for a year or so, I think there are legitimate reasons (political and financial) to expect dividends around 5% (ASB & ASM) before any bonus from Dec '21 to Dec '22. Hopefully >5% from 2023.
