First time investing into ASB, usually the way they pay dividend basically by adding more units automatically or the dividend went into our bank account? What's the usually payout date

Dividend is in the form of units and it will be credited into your ASNB account.

U mean The Bumi fund right...
Then the payment date is 1 January...
Open for transaction (top up & withdrawal) on 2 January...
Prepared for super long Q at ansb office or agent banks...

Another question.
Already answered by other forummer 😁

It will be very interesting to see what the ASB dividend is this time. There are many factors in play. I am not expecting anything great but I do think 5% is a reasonable expectation.

ASB dividend is somehow benchmark for next year ASx funds rate.... Ignore is market performance is good or bad... Because somehow... They would dig into reserve $$ to reduce the bad impact.... Or keep / cfwd to next financial year....

Agreed. Which is why I think the upcoming ASB dividend is important. If it declares around 5% then 4.75% would be a reasonable expectation for the ASM funds I think. This would still leave room to improve but would at least be better than the previous year.

Hi sifu.

Need some help here to verify info with ASNB a/c opening.

I'm trying to open the account with agent bank (MBB). The staff told me FP a/c is not open now. So I can only open the VP a/c for the time being.

She told me the minimum placement is RM1K. I thought a/c opening + min placement at most is RM110?

Another question: How easy it is to open FP a/c online after my VP a/c is set up?

Just go to ASNB branch to open a new account. Min RM100 units is needed for you to open an account, so it really depends on luck.

If not mistaken, you can open ASNB account now fully online. Then once done, you can purchase FP/VP units as you wish fully online too. Don't need to leave the house.

Not true about min rm100 to open acc for non bumis.
U can just go to Maybank ( they r ASNB partner/ agent) tell the counter staff u want to open ASNB acc.... those blur counter staff normally will say no more units or seems lost on what to do next, some will call their managers......so just tell them u wanna buy rm10 of the ASN flexi units...sure available one.... once u bought it u can log into the ASNB app and start fishing for ASM units..... happy fishing!

I think he means fixed price funds and variable price funds, not "accounts" as in ASNB member accounts.

I tried the agent banks before and the experience is not very pleasant. It's either they will put on a long face or they will straight up tell you there is no units. Hence I rather go to the branch.

Thank you all for the advice and help.

I ended up trying out the app registration. Experience is very terrible 'coz their app is not mature enough (many errors) BUT I can sit at home to register. Took me a good hour. Now pending verification. Hopefully can get it done within 1 week. Will update here once I get the a/c for any new user's future reference.

I got one question: Can one switch ASN to ASM fund? How easy it is to do it? Will there be charges involved?

Once the verification done, you may access the app and choose to buy ASM directly for the new account opening. No sales charges.

Thanks! I'm actually planning of buying both ASM (FP) and ASN (VP), and transfer/ switch gradually from ASN to ASM when there's ASM fund available. Not sure if it's doable.. and how much the charges.
Can you advise?
