You can get it as cheap as <RM50 in bulk.

TM is using PON which is passive optical network. No need power source in between the telephone office and your housing area.
Just use cheap fibre splitters to split a single core from the port at the OLT into separate 32 shared lines.

Stupid TM so much excuses, if you can't bring service and phase out copper by 2020 today, you don't fit to be Malaysia's HSBB wholesale provider. Just hand the responsibility to TNB who can do a better open provider job instead.

The statement you mentioned is not true at all. ONE of my friend who live the landed house (we called terrace house) using the VDSL..
Sound like fiber, but check carefully with my friend during CNY using Unifi Lite 10Mbps (That one is previously name of the package).. If simple word, that is streamyx 10mbps.. dry.gif

Same as the picture just now only the orange color router type, but there is no Huawei ONT modem.. That's crapped of TM mentioned that my friend's area NOT GOING for FTTH future project. (Behind reason I'm not sure why lah~)

I don't think so TM not providing TP-Link or D-Link anymore. Perhaps it might be shortage of router, so you are the nasib buruk give you this shit router with "Unifi" logo..

If you have such a bit budget brows.gif , that's the best you spend for purchase ASUS router one.. No one can beat from TP-Link and D-Link.

I've got 3 friends located in different states having Unifi installed recently, all of them are on landed property and TM still provides that Nestel or Netlis whatever router. Probably they are looking to reduce costs. At the moment it seems like only Unifi Lite is on VDSL while proper unifi with turbo potential in the future are all FTTH, I'll probably be getting an Asus router in the end.
BTW, can we ask those technicians to install ethernet cables?

One question, I've booked my Unifi Plan from an agent and awaiting TM to finish laying fiber next month. The agent said I couldn't change my plan from 300mbps RM199 to 100mbps+tvbox RM159 as it is not available anymore. But from what I've seen it is still available online. Can I change my booking with CS online and grab the 159? Anyone had this experience before?

Seek help from certified agents, from what I've heard you still can subscribe for 300mbps but entitle for a discount until their new tv box is available in April. They listed as out of stock because the bundle new 4k box isn't available at the moment.

When on fiber it's a WiFi router, on VDSL2 it's modem router

I used to work as a CS rep, not for TM obviously but for some foreign company
Basically when you called in with registered phone number, they can already see your informations. But we still have to do identity check as we couldn't 100% confirm the person calling is the real owner. If we skipped that verification part, kena deduct salary or getting fired you know....
If you called in with other number, by using your provided info still can grab your account info, just bit slower lah...
And relax, no phone no pendrive no paper no pen
Your info is in the system and system alone, CS rep can't bring those out

Think I've seen a previous post saying you'd be charged RM600 for canceling after TM contacts you regarding the installation. But that 600 would only be charged on your first TM unifi bill. (never install, never had to pay)
