I never heard/see before Unifi CEO will comes out and say "Sorry about pricing unfair practice".
But it's good to raise and report to mcmc..

Seriously not fair at all.. Main busuk...

But the most worst case, that's the only Unifi will taken down the offer for that.. That's the end..
*
Heh, they would probably go for the worst...
Claims that was some old brochure, no more offering as such, case close cool2.gif

Either they use metal piping dig under the road or from pole to pole.

They done pulling the fiber to the manhole beside my house, just haven't connected it to the pole bye.gif

Usually the cable inside the manhole connects to the nearest roadside cabinet. From there, either the cable will run underground to the nearest pole coming out from it and extended aerially.

From the picture you provided, notice the shorter pipe next to the longer one? It has a opening, for the cable to reenter underground.

Either that or another cable from the cabinet will come out through it and the technician will connect both ends with a junction box which is cone shape. The extra cable will be coiled and tied up on the pole.

Thanks for the explanations rclxms.gif

Each jalan/lorong they pull one black wire to cover the whole row of homes. Inside each cable there's more than 1 strand which further split to 8 ports using a passive splitter inside the FDP box.

To only put one FDP box for each row of house which has around 10 homes covering both sides, either TM is stupid, highly corrupted or they intentionally doing it to provide limited number of ports only for themselves.

You can actually report this to MCMC as a complaint because as comparison, TNB Allo buildouts place at least 4-5 FDPs per lorong in their new buildouts. Each FDP can provide 8 ports min.

See for yourself:

I believe that's how TM does their fiber infra everywhere, that's why you always see people complaining about the lack of ports.
Asking TM to put extra DP/Ports is like trying to collect money back from people bangwall.gif

Even with new buildouts they still doing this intentionally. Very obvious la what they up to.

Got 20 homes to serve or upgrade existing Streamyx lines you go put just 1 FDP to serve the whole 2 rows of houses left and right?

Clearly the government also made an extremely costly decision to award them the rights to build the country's shared HSBB infrastructure with this sort of bad planning people they have.
*
Too bad we couldn't get Time or MyRepublic to take over our national fiber backbone, or at least making the market more competitive by helping over telco to build their infra? cry.gif

QUOTE(muhammadnajmi96 @ Jun 28 2020, 08:24 PM)
when we can expect symmetrical or higher for upload speed? Nowadays with cloud thingy backup etc upload is more important than before.
*
If you are expecting TM to do that, probably moving to a condo with Time fiber will be the easiest way lol...
Last time complaining to them about the lack of fiber infra at my area,
their online agent told me buying a house at unifi-ed area will be the better option ranting.gif
After that, I never expect anything from TM.

BTW guys, wanna get fiber at your area fast? Go play games competitively and professionally brows.gif

Is there any chance that unifi will not create more port in one area even there is demand? e.g. terrain or housing layout affects creating new port

Finally my old apartment has FTTH cable installed by TM, saying goodbye to my good ol' VDSL this Saturday and welcome 300Mbps. Does anyone know what is the latest router provided by TM for 300Mbps package?

I have my own TP-Link C6 and I wonder if it is better than TM's provided one.

Saw a few TM technician working at the 'box' at my taman last week, talked to them and was really excited when they said they working on fibre & should be available by the end of the month.
Currently using unifi lite 10mbps only, went to TM point but they say not available still ffs. How come technicians and people working at TM point give 2 different info?
*
Personal experience, staff at TM point usually got no idea what is going on...
Last time when I saw TM trucks laying fiber at my area, workers told me entire fiber work should be done within 3 months.
So I went to TM Point to register for fiber, and they were surprised when I show them pictures of the work.
"Wah, we don't know they're pulling fiber at your area...you got ETA?"
Agents on the other hand, they came months ago before any actual work were being done...
This should be that "fiber box"?

Ah so that's how it looks like, later i go home drive around my taman check  biggrin.gif

Good luck, once DP is up you gonna fight for the ports. Cause 1 DP only provides 8 ports.
Asking TM to install more is as hard as asking them to pull fiber at the first place.
Better register at TM Point first ya rclxms.gif

These are usually at the telecom posts at the backlane of your house

One box has limited ports so better be fast when applying once available

Those at the back of my house have TM logo printed on it
*
My street has 18 houses, TM only provided a single DP that has 8 ports...yikes
Guess we'll have to put up 1v1 duels to fight for ports? bruce.gif
