Sharing the simple DIY to create a speaker pocket in my C70:

First, gone hunting for cookie cutter. Found one set of 12 pieces, and has a 42mm cutter. Bought it from Shopee. I press the cookie cutter into the foam to make a mark.

Here's a nice circle created by cold press the cookie cutter.
I further heat up the cookie cutter with a heat gun, then press the heated cutter further down for the depth I wanted.
A heated cookie cutter will melt through the foam.

Irrigating is a little challenging.
With the cooking cutter in place as fencing,
I use a combination of soldering iron to melt down the foam, and a steel ruler to excavate and flatten the surface as much as possible.

Test placement of the speaker.
At this depth, the speaker is only half buried in the speaker pocket I just created.
Even so, it's poking on my head.
I deepened the pocket further afterwards, and have the speaker fully buried and flush with the surface.

Another view of the speaker sitting nicely in the pocket without needing any velcro to hold it in place.
Later, I use soldering iron to cut out a cable trunk to run the speaker cable out from the pocket.

My buddy had just bought and installed his bluetooth headset in CS-15, stock standard speaker pocket, no need to mod like my C70.

I'm planning to get my own helmet for go karting sessions. Can recommend any full face helmets with chin guards?

Affordable one would do for now. Budget less than RM300

If u can top up a little better just go for HJC Cs-15 @ around 400.. Or for your budget can try search for LS2 brand.. HJC coz it's Sharp tested so can assure the safety.. Some LS2 is tested too.. Else you can look for helmet with ece rated, but since nowadays most China helmet also put ECE (which I doubt) so I'm not too convinced.. sweat.gif

I'm using a cheap ass china full face helmet for karting, simply because I don't want to stick a go pro mount to my normal motorcycle helmet. Paid 60 for it. It's a piece of junk but it's also only 60.

You ask just in time.

Friend with CS-15 tested with ear bud + bluetooth speakers installed.
No issue.

Why both you might ask.

Because cheapo bluetooth speaker set does not mix in navigation alert when you are on intercom.

He was running intercom with his wife but need navigation alert, hence both devices running at same time.

Cheap solution, for RM200 bluetooth + Rm100 ear bud.

I used to use the mi buds but got sick of loosing them when I remove my helmet...those little things bounce and roll like jelly beans...right into a longkang.

Only way I can keep them in my ear is to wear a Balaklava

If you ever want to buy a Shoei helmet, visit GoMoTo experience lab to do a size check. The shops are hit and miss, and you do not want a bigger shell than you have to.

And you can try the different models and sizes from the entire lineup. Just bring your own balaclava.

That being said, Arai’s new Quantic has so good cushioning. Feels light years ahead of Shoei for comfort and out of the box fit for my head. The cushion is superior that’s for sure.

Size check is free. Just pop by and tell them you interested to buy and want to do size check. And you can test out the entire lineup if you wish. All free.

Good and friendly service.
