Outdoor UHF antenna should be good but I don't know what kind of antenna is recommended in your area. Try pointing to Bukit Tampin (frequency 546MHZ/562MHZ) for digital TV reception in Seremban area as the supposed mast for the Seremban area, Gunung Telapak Burok doesn't have digital terrestrial transmission.

There is a saying that the DTT reception in around Negeri Sembilan aren't so widely covered.
So better look for at least 14-E (14-elements) UHF outdoor antenna and install as high as possible (e.g. at rooftop).

Thanks to CJ WOW SHOP, "GM HD" mode (GM stands for Glenmarie) is now available on Media Prima channels, on testing on TV9 a few moments eariler. Formerly, when "GM" mode is in use, the picture quality will degraded significantly even when Sri Pentas wasn't equipped with HD play out. Captured via Tonton livestream (1080p).

I think the "GM" stands for Glenmarie, is it?
Media Prima has a backup broadcast transmission at Glenmarie there, if I'm not mistaken.

Yup, GM stands for Glenmarie, the former HQ of NTV7.

Media Prima indeed have 2 sets of playout systems, which one of them (main) is on Sri Pentas while another one (backup) is on Glenmarie which is very recently upgraded into HD, as we saw here.

With "GM" labelled on the feed it is easy for Media Prima to check where the playout originates.

I see that "GM" indicator appear once in a bluemoon like earlier what you saw.
Why they wanna "test" like this? In case Sri Pentas one total system failure, then the Glenmarie one can take it as backup?

Well, we don't see Astro put such indicator if they would to do such "backup" hmm.gif

----

Also, I notice NTV7, 8TV and TV9 are still airing programmes during midnight on digital TV and Tonton, while NTV7, 8TV and TV9 on Astro will appear colour bar and test tone during midnight.
Any idea why like this even till today? Why is it the ones on Astro didn't simulcast and continue airing its programmes during midnight?

Correct. In case if Sri Pentas fails then Glenmarie will take over as backup. I won't know why they are showing "GM" however.

---

Don't have Astro so really cannot know what is happening there. Can I have a video on what is happening and what time it is happening on Astro? Interesting to see why that switch can happen even after digital switchover when this shouldn't been happening at all on Astro after all. These channels still show the full schedule on Astro.

The kill switch was implemented on analogue TV on 2019 so that the transmitters will "close" eariler (despite many transmitters remained up, like Gunung Pulai, for 24/7). Negaraku broadcast was broadcast during when analogue TV is "closing down" for the day. In fact all Negaraku broadcast had been stopped on all Media Prima channels since this year and NTV7/8TV are slammed with colour bars after closedown (regular programming) without anything. Unifi TV/playtv@unifi did not have such issues on the said channels.

Turns out, MYTV decided to remain Mux 1's frequency of 682MHz instead of restack to 650MHz hmm.gif
Only Mux 2's frequency will be affected.

NTV7/8TV closes on its usual time.

TV9, although it was 24 hours on DTT, IPTV and Tonton it was written as close on Mon to Thurs.

Yea, but that was analogue TV era...
On DTT, those channels are still on air showing some repeated programmes.
Separate feed? Why leh? hmm.gif

So when it comes to Indonesia's analogue TV station,
Once Mux 2 left from 698MHz, Indosiar is now cleared from interference smile.gif
But once Mux 2 is on 650MHz, it will affect RCTI channel 🙃

I wonder, why not MYTV just restack the frequencies to 482MHz, 498MHz or 514MHz???
Analogue TV already switched off, so it shouldn't be an issue....
Why die die also must squeeze around 6xx MHz to interfere with Indonesia and make things complicated?

The first one is interesting after all where separate versions of a channel is shown on different platforms when it was in fact, only needed for analogue TV (gone). Complain about the issue to relevant authorities and companies.

If these 2 frequencies are to be the permanent frequencies for MYTV digital TV, moving it to 482,498 and 514Mhz would be a hassle for MYTV to restack twice on Johor area. (which based what I seem, quite easy to done and even simulcast as MYTV are using a 3+1 system for their transmitters) There are no suitable frequencies other than the existing low UHF band option.

My decoder is only getting Media Prima channels, and no RTM ones. I have tried both CH45 666MHz (received Media Prima) and CH43 650MHz (nothing, but signal > 90%)

Edit: I moved my antenna outside the door and I received RTM now. And when bring the antenna back in the signal is fine too. Dunno why it didn't detect when the antenna was inside sad.gif

An update regarding the reception quality of MYTV MUX 2 channels in Johor Bahru area.

Pic 1 is on 698MHz (existing MUX 2 signal from Gunung Pulai + Skudai)
Pic 2 is on 650MHz (MUX 2 from Pelangi transmitter) (which I don't expect it would be receivable in my part of JB. Transmitter power for both transmitters should be high - very high to combat foreign interference)

According to MYTV, Pelangi transmitter could be received as far from Kulai, Senai and Pasir Gudang, while Skudai transmitter could be received as far from Pontian and Kukup island. Since many terrestrial viewers in Johor Bahru maintains separate antennas for Malaysian and Singapore transmissions due to different directions of the transmitters, MYTV transmitters are strategically placed in such a way that Johor Bahru viewers could somehow receive good quality signal using outdoor antenna pointing to either Gunung Pulai or Bukit Batok transmitter, depending to the area. It is also meant for better quality reception indoors in JB area.

Please retune to 650MHz, if reception is possible or when signal is gone, as 698MHz will no longer be transmitted very soon. Interference may be still possible from Indonesian analogue transmissions in some areas.
