Yeah. IPTV is a lot better. The picture quality is significantly better.

So one should use IPTV instead.

my local internet goes to <1Mbps. I will pick classic over the air transmission any day for tv and radio.

One problem with IPTV is the internet speed in some areas.... It's very slow.... So all those streaming services become useless....

Old school broadcasting is way forward....

IPTV has its own dedicated bandwidth, and it doesn't utilise your Internet speed, so Internet speed won't be a concern here.

Today, only TM offers IPTV (Multicast) and you can only get it by subscribe to Unifi Fibre (or copper VDSL) service. If Unifi coverage (not the Unifi Mobile) isn't available in your area, then same applies to its IPTV service.

Shahrol becomes mediator to resolve Awesome TV lawsuit dispute
Comedian and actor, Shahrol Azizie Azmi has stepped forward to assume responsibility as a mediator in an effort to resolve the defamation lawsuit involving the television station Awesome TV with three of his fellow artists, namely Amir Raja Lawak, Mamak Puteh and Abu Mamu. Shahrol, 41, said the action was taken out of love for the art industry, as well as wanting to help his friends who were in trouble.

1. Are our TV stations having low storage of movies? The Abang movie was telecast in TV2 last month. Now it's running in TVS. Why this rotating system? Same goes with Stephen Chow movies which was telecast in 8TV and retelecast a week later in Awesome TV.

2. Why RTM TV6 still in 'Siaran Percubaan' (Trial Telecast) even after 2 years? Nobody watches the channel?

You know there’s plenty of internet streaming service out there right? More fresh content choices there. Why bother still watching FREE terrestrial TV?

Anyway, to answer your questions:

1) It’s mostly because stations share licensing rights and have limited budgets. So they rotate popular movies like Abang or Stephen Chow’s films across different channels to fill airtime and reach different audiences. It’s cheaper than buying new content, and familiar titles tend to get decent viewership anyway. So yeah, not low storage—just smart budgeting and a love for reruns.

2) RTM hasn’t officially launched it as a full channel yet. It’s likely being used to test content formats, viewership response, and technical setups. Since it’s not a priority channel and has low audience traction, they’re taking their time. TV6 is the slowest test run in history—maybe they’re waiting for someone to actually notice it exists.

Streaming delay performance on live TV

TV channel used on test : TV1 and TV2 (because they do show clocks).

Terrestrial network (MYTV) is exactly 7 seconds.
Mana-Mana (1080p stream @ 3.5Mbps) : 20-25 seconds
Sooka by Astro : 20-25 seconds (480p)
RTM Klik (current delay) : 20-25 seconds for 2.5Mbps stream (was 45 seconds at last year - RTM TV1 has a " significantly larger delay" of almost 1 minute - they started to use higher bitrate of more than 5Mbps, after all).
Unifi TV (2.0 app) (1080p stream @ 4Mbps) : 20-25 seconds (1.0 version has a much larger delay of almost 1 minute - they are currently in process to migrate every subscriber to 2.0 app).

There is a reason why TV2, TV Okey and Sukan RTM use lower bitrates instead - because the delay is lower.

After all the updates, the gap on streaming performance of streaming services has "tighten up", with all major apps offering similar delay.

Not to forget that MYTV also uses satellite backhaul for some of MYTV's TV transmitters, that alone will contribute additional few seconds of delay.
Also, it is expected that MYTV's DTH viewers would get additional few seconds of delay compared to DTT as well.

Did you compare the one on Astro/NJOI (satellite) and also Unifi TV (IPTV)?

Don't have these at home (my Unifi TV account is app based), so I do not compare. Maybe someone else can compare?

Well, that 7 seconds delay on MYTV DTT, should have already take account of DTH/Satellite feed (with help of GPS) - the line fed transmitter should have "delayed" a bit to be in sync with satellite feed - otherwise the SFN network will fail in some regions, where line fed transmitter and satellite fed transmitter overlap within the SFN network (for example - Pulau Pangkor TX which is satellite fed - which use the same frequency as all the transmitter across Central/Northern region, or Bukit Bintang TX (satellite fed) - which has significant overlap with Telipot/Bukit Bakar which are line fed and use same frequency).

SFN must be in sync perfectly - a SFN with different delay level is horrendous - this can cancel out reception in significantly overlap areas. The delay level of MYTV terrestrial TV should be the same, regardless of using line fed transmitter or satellite fed transmitter.

The delay should have been much lower, if all transmitters are line fed and/or all transmitters use MFN (which different transmitter = different delay level).

Apartments and condos usually already have the centralise antenna systems ready.
Technically known as MATV (Master Television), or SMATV (Satellite Master Television) which is primarily meant for Astro.

Some apartment/condo building's MATV/SMATV systems may have either 2 (TV and SAT), or even 3 (TV, FM and SAT) that you may see in the unit's living room or bedroom.

TV means it's for receiving terrestrial TV signals (i.e. MYTV Broadcasting's DVB-T2 broadcasts)
SAT means it's for receiving satellite TV signals (i.e. Astro)
FM means it's for receiving FM radio broadcasts (87.5 MHz - 108.0 MHz). This is useful only if you have a FM receiver (such as a HiFi audio system) that supports external FM antenna input, where you can just connect it, and receive good reception of FM radio stations without relying on your whip antenna (since FM reception may be poorer indoors).

However, apartments/condos with poor building management (especially those low cost flats or few decades-old apartments) sometimes won't even put much attention to the MATV/SMATV systems when the system is faulty (regardless if it only affects your unit or a portion/entire block), and some of the managements out there may even say " fixing/upgrade the problem or system is expensive, it costs up to 4 or even 5 figures", expecting only the residents who complain to pay it, instead of the building management bearing the cost.

Or, they might just tell you "just use Internet/WiFi to watch your TV shows", implying that they've "abandoned" their MATV/SMATV systems.

mean if is down, need complaint to management, if case like you say management don fix it, then need drilling for extra dish, arial, or worsen maybe some management not allow to drill, the last choice also use own internet
