Active boosters with a spike antenna really don't help much unless the decoder box has a really poor tuner. A small Yagi outdoors is much better

If you would to recommend a portable and small size antenna, yet has a powerful signal reception capacity, would you recommend antenna like this one:

...or something else?

It should work. Yagi are odd antennas. To get a bit more gain requires a LOT more elements and a much bigger antenna

Also the updates fixed the non-local E-016-0 error message.

It's 99% likely be same like TV3 one, so it be like that.

4Mbps is pretty much their standard for its HD channel. sweat.gif

...which is unlikely. Based on MYTV Broadcasting's pattern.

The long awaited thing had happened. 8TV is now in HDTV (1080i) instead of SDTV (576i). Rescan TV set/Set top box if there is transmission loss.

Bitrate check from joshhd to be followed i guess?

ps: Apologies if my ping causes problems with you, but it'll be interesting to see how much bandwidth they left after this conversion to HD.

So if you wonder:
- How many more SD/HD channels that MYTV Broadcasting can offer on its existing muxes?
- If they would to increase bitrate to improve overall A/V quality, would it be possible now?

Use this table and you can self-imagine:

Looks like Mux1 has already filled up quite well, if they wanna open up another new channel/do a HD upgrade for an existing channel, i guess Mux3 is coming soon then.

According to Utusan Online: https://www.utusan.com.my/berita/2021/02/12...disiarkan-mytv/
QUOTE
"Pengguna siaran televisyen percuma tempatan bakal menikmati 12 lagi saluran baharu dalam masa terdekat, sekali gus menjadikan bilangan keseluruhan kepada 29 saluran."
"Jumlah itu, namun, tidak termasuk beberapa saluran baharu yang dicadangkan akan ditambah oleh pihak Radio dan Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) termasuk TV Pendidikan tidak lama lagi."
The way I see it, they focus on quantity more than quality sweat.gif

And based on available bandwidth for Mux 1 and Mux 2, it is for sure that Mux 3 is coming very very soon (because obviously the bandwidth is not enough).

MUX 1 : Enough bitrate for with some extra radio stations + just 1 extra SD channel/1 channel to be convert into HD
MUX 2 : Enough bitrate for up to 3 SD channels/1 HD channel + 1 SD channel plus some radio channels.

Both MUXes are almost full now (1 MUX has around 34Mbps bitrate). So, MUX 3 is expected to coming soon (that will require advance information for rescan STB/TV) or cause chaos like before, where RTM channels move MUX, moreover with possible addition of channels.

Gone were the days where even MUX 1 is half empty due to lack of interest from TV operators.

That's because TV operators those days aren't so "confident" about MYTV Broadcasting yet. Plus there's a few other new TV operators, where it is largely unknown by the public, yet no official launch date is announced.

Btw based on the figure earlier, how about increasing bitrate to improve A/V quality? 😆
