CIR not working...I tried installing the one found in the chinese site and cd provided but both did not work.

Did anybody found the right driver for this?

hi! how can we test if the CIR is working or not in the Aspire 4520? Are we supposed to use a remote control?

this model doesnt come with remote control

Is CIR the same as IR? If so, then we could use cellphones with IRs and try transferring data. Also when i installed the driver for CIR, there was an error on the device manager stating that the driver is corrupted

use ur handphone with IR la. bro ...

i am looking forward to get one with upgrade to 2GB RAM during PC Fair

does looking to the screen make ur eyes tired? anti gloss screen?
are the keyboard keys hard to press?
is the heat is ok once use for 2 hours or more?

Overall, I like the 4520. The keyboards are not very responsive if you rest your palms on the notebook. It becomes responsive if you type using the "hover" technique where the palms of your hands are not resting on the keyboards.

Since I use the 4520 in the office with adequate airconditioning, I have no problems with the heat. You may want to consider a laptop cooler if you intend to use the notebook for long periods of time/gaming. Having 2 gb of ram will be nice. If you run VISTA, then it is like running XP with 512 mb of RAM. Not bad...

I'm still looking for the right driver for CIR. It seems no working driver for windows XP is available right now

yeah....maybe in a couple of months. Haven't stopped searching.

thank goodness for this thread, hahaha, i helped my cousin buy one last nite at PCFAIR, and couldn't find the drivers, luckily our local lowyat.net has so many experts, thanks everyone

Just bought today at ALL IT..
RM1999 with 1gb ram..
they provided me with xp driver too.

hi bro, may i know that u bought from digital mall All IT or Lowyat one ? Coz really valuable to get 1GB ram and pay with cu rrent price, usually just have 512MB only.

where u bought it? with all the upgrades and win xp? coz my friend from india wanna buy 2 units of it. budget around 1200usd

i have problem when installing camera driver. it seems CCD bison or suyin driver is not compatible with it. already try with resources cd and download from acer web also. and currently i`m using windows vista home premium. please advice.

All IT in lowyat plaza. they gave me kingston ram ddr667.

yup..got it..but what is for anyway? they specially burn a cd for me.

all it lowyat.no winxp..i installed it by myself.they just gave me winxp cd drivers.


but now i got a problem..the headphone jack is not working/not detected..i try installed vista sound drivers but to no avail..sound still come from the main speaker.anybody can enlighten me?

Have you guys tried the microphone if it is working?
