Come and share info about this model. Especially for drivers. Curentlly it hard to find driver for Wins XP.

ya u r right ts, for it hard to find driver for winxp, till now i still can't find the nic driver for it.

for lan driver, u need to install xp chipset driver. i forget where i donlod the driver but you can search in Google for 14.10_nforce_630a_winxp_english_whql. sure you can use your lan. however, i still couldnt install the driver for vga although i have donlod the same version of driver for XP. i dont know what i must do to solve the problem. currently, i using vista ehem version but i need to use xp

Hmm...interested to know hows the performance..But then there are a model that hv similar name the 4520G..equipped with 8600m

NVIDIA Geforce 7000M is shared memory means it is a integrated gpu ..but it's performance are better off than GMA950 and also Geforce Go 6150 ..

8600m is independent memory and is dedicated meaning the performance is far superior than 7000 ..

nevertheless this lappy is a nice buy ..nice price and decent spec for mild gamers .

where did u found a driver for wireless lan??
i'm also still searching fot cir driver.

I have a wireless driver installed but it doesn't seem to work. What I mean is that it can't detect any wireless network under XP.
If you wanna try the driver name is "Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adaptor".

I've installed XP pro sp2 on this aspire BUT no sound device can be detected - wireless lan also cant be found but ethernet works - Webcam and mic,hvnt tested. Can anyone help wif the sound device and wireless lan?

If your planning to use Vista Home on it,it's no problem just that ppl who wans to use XP on Aspire 4520 needs to hunt down XP drivers to almost all its hardware. like me ATM i got no sound and no WLAN

for those who want to install xp to their lovely laptop, you can use those driver:

-14.10_nforce_630a_winxp_english_whql- for chipset
-Forceware_165.01_XP_English- for vga
-Atheros Wireless- you can download from here- http://www.savefile.com/files/891661
-for other drivers you can use the driver that come from your driver cd

Only one component that still cant fix that is winbond cir transceiver. im stil does not found the right driver for this.

EDITED:Got it! Installedt he Atheros driver for the ? Ethernet Controller thx for the driver and help! Is the sound device driver inside the provided CD?
