for those who want to install xp to their lovely laptop, you can use those driver: -14.10_nforce_630a_winxp_english_whql- for chipset -Forceware_165.01_XP_English- for vga -Atheros Wireless- you can download from here- http://www.savefile.com/files/891661 -for other drivers you can use the driver that come from your driver cd Only one component that still cant fix that is winbond cir transceiver. im stil does not found the right driver for this. hi nidz,do u get driver 4 cir? |

im confused on da spec of Acer Aspire 4250...

@jonuslee - So far, I am happy with the Aspire 4520. Boot up time is so quick the machine can handle most of my daily requirements i.e. emailing, some MS Office applications, etc. The only thing I can say is that the keyboard can use some improvements. I am a fast typist and sometimes, the keyboard could not keep up with me most specially the backspace. Other than that, the machine is super. I have no regrets buying it. I actually downloaded an application called Sidebar at www.desktopsidebar.com and now, my notebook looks like it has a Vista OS.

Actually, after I have used the machine for several days, the keyboards were more responsive. As regards looks, you may go check actual pictures at the acer website (www.acer.com). Please share if anyone manage to find the CIR driver ya. I'm planning to install XP after my stint with Vista. Vista is stable, but XP has a quicker response.

What is Acer stand on XP and Vista? Visit www.acer.com.my and 4520 is not even in their site (not a good PR move). I am torn between BenQ T31 and Acer 4520. luv the 4520 look. I am planning to run XP only but after reading this thread i have my reservation getting 4520 to run on XP. I ain't no hardcore tech fella so i do c myself getting frust.
Did any owner get any official response from Acer regarding 4520 and XP? |

After choosing the driver you want to DL, a new page will load with 4 links then just click the second link. Also you can only DL 3 drivers simultaneously.

I found the CIR driver in the CD that came with the notebook. Go to command prompt and then type the drive where the CD is i.e. d:\SW1\CIR\setup.exe
Try it and let me know. |
