Hi,
I'm helping one of my friend to setup the modem in the 4520, I just can't make it work, everytime while it registering on the network it appeared with an "Error 720". The notebook is running winxp and now i start to suspect is it the modem driver's issue, I can't seem to find any XP Driver for the modem, temporarily I'm using the Vista Modem driver provided in the CD |

QUOTE(creed @ Aug 11 2007, 03:54 PM) Hi, please go to Device Manager and check the driver that is currently installed. Is it the Agere Systems HDA modem version 2.1.77.9? If it is, then is should be the correct driver. Try uninstalling it and installing it again using the driver from the CD. Otherwise, you can check the old post for sites whee you can download the modem driver. Hi all..I just bought an Aspire 4520 as well and i'm having some weird problem. When the screen turns off (set from Power Settings to turn off after 5 mins of idle), and you try to move the mouse/touch pad, the screen will not turn on again! O_O. The only way to restart the whole thing or to close the lid, make it go into stand by and open it again. Sometimes when I hibernate the thing, and then turn it on again...the login screen is not displayed but is just a dark blank...have to standby and turn on again to make it display. Has anybody exprienced this problem as well? Any solutions? Thx

Hi..thx for the link...I reverted back from the Nvidia Forceware drivers to the vga driver that Acer China provided and its ok already. For some reason the problem only occurs with the Forceware Video drivers o_O...so I guess its best to use the default one Acer provided.
p.s: Forgot to mention that I'm using Windows XP. This post has been edited by ctwolf88: Aug 13 2007, 12:18 PM |

QUOTE(nckent @ Aug 11 2007, 12:14 PM) Consumer Infrared (CIR)Added on August 16, 2007, 10:51 am QUOTE(raiz07 @ Aug 16 2007, 09:07 AM) lvl037 have u tried passing data to it? Like passing tones from cellphones or other devices with IR? Yes, same situation. It says the driver is ok and the device is working properly but when I try to beam something using my PDA, no response. My PDA works well with my other notebook so there is really a problem with the 4520 Infrared. Also, wireless link (which has the settings of the Ir) does not appear in the control panel. you can likewise take a digital photo of the infrared port and if the photo does not show it is lighted, then it is not working (digital cameras can capture light emitted by IR which cannot be seen by the naked eye).Mine is installed properly but when I tried transfering data, it won't work. Thanks for the info. By the way, wanna ask all of the acer 4520 owners here, do any of you feel some keyboard lag problem? For instance, you press a key and it take a second to come out on screen? Any minor glitches about this model?nvidia 7000 kindda support vista but not for running extreme games. This post has been edited by th3_UnFoRs33n: Aug 17 2007, 03:44 PM |
