Yes, for other drivers is in driver CD. Audio also. When installing it, there will appear a few windows that said A new hardware was found. Ignore it.
BUt after I install it for XP, there is no Dolby Sound setting instead it was Realtek HD Audio manager exist. Why?

Same here but look carefully there are 3 tabs related to "dolby" at the mid bottom.Try check it out.

for the latest spec of 4520... acer has changed nvidia geforce 7000 to ati radeon express 1100...

why? is it ati better than nvidia?

i prefer nvidia than ati..

the battery only can last for 2hours +- laaa

Anybody, does Acer Aspire 4520 have bluetooth? I am using XP but I can't seem to get it working. It says no device found.

Oh ok but then ther shud be an indicator rite? Like my dad's DELL lappie. How many hours remaining etc in the taskbar.Can the batt be upgraded?

Hi all! Aspire 4520 user. So far, wireless lan is working using Atheros driver. I just notice that it suddenly turns off when loading a program, transferring files, etc. It is really annoying. Other than that, it is really a nice machine. If only Acer made it to run originally on xp, then it is perfect. As it is, we have to scrounge for drivers, etc.

I'm planning to buy this one soon,but with all the problems all of you are facing with driver for Windows XP, then should I go with Vista? I prefer XP tho, much less resource hogging.

It is ok to install XP on it but just take some patience hunt,download and install the VGA and nforce driver - other drivers like WLAN can be found in the provided DVD resource.All the drivers in the DVD actually are for Vista but WLAN driver works with XP.

for those who want to install xp to their lovely laptop, you can use those driver:

-14.10_nforce_630a_winxp_english_whql- for chipset
-Forceware_165.01_XP_English- for vga
-Atheros Wireless- you can download from here-  http://www.savefile.com/files/891661
-for other drivers you can use the driver that come from your driver cd

Only one component that still cant fix that is winbond cir transceiver. im stil does not found the right driver for this.

Just wondering , do u managed to install the sound driver from the CD. Because mine didnt work. It say realtek cant be install.

Yes.I install it from Cd. I dont know what are your problem since I dont have any problem to install it.
emm, for your information, when you installing the driver, there will appear some windows that said a new hardware was found....
just ignore it or cancel and proceed to your installation process.
