Anyone here will consider switching to Syfe Trade after they have launched?

https://www.syfe.com/trade

looks tempting
1) Five free trades, every month, USD 0.99 per trade thereafter
2) Fractional trading
3) SIPC protected
4) Real-time stock quotes

Unlikely for me. No options, no go. Also I need to see how good is their conversion rates.

I'd be interested if TSX and LSE access are available at those rates 👀

Anyone have issues to trade USD denominated ETF on HKEX (trading permission issue) ?

No problems with HKD ETF trades.

Thanks

Update : According to Customer Service, IBKR does not support USD on HKEX.

Didn't try the web portal, but the desktop software is working fine. It can be unstable at times though, for example when market resumes trading from lunch break. Or nearing market open/close.

the site was horrendously slow last night, but is fast and snappy during our day time, wondering if IBKR.au has any heavy traffic issue, tested in several devices and with different network, just wondering how come the biggest brokerage has this issue.

Use the tws program. Don't bother with website. The website I feel is broken. Only useful thing is for incoming deposit notification.

And also corporate actions, like dividends, rights issuance, voting matters etc. I find the CA manager on the web to be useful for this purposes.

Also, documents like tax-related stuff, portfolio analysis etc. are found on the web portal too. Perhaps I am wrong, but I can't access them from TWS.

Just a note, I've lost a bunch of money before trading on rakuten's platform because their server sucks big time, always hang/crashed. Ie. Not able to sell when you want to.

There's also no stop loss feature unlike other established platforms.

I guess for buying & holding long term it is probably ok, not for trading.

Hey all, newbie here, appreciate some help here.

I just set up my IBKR for the first time and want to use the ACH method through Transfer Wise but after I click through the option in IBKR to transfer via ACH, it requires me to verify my bank account using their auto verification. After I clicked through that, it gave me a list of US banks (need to login to verify). Wise is not on the list obviously.

Watching Ziet's video, it goes straight to direct debit confirmation signature which is not what I got. So yeah, just wondering how I can set this up.

Make sure you press on "deposit funds" and not something else. Then at ach transfer there click on "get instructions". I just tested doing so no issue similar to ziet video.

Yeah, so it's deposit funds as part of first time account set up. I've put some screengrabs below.

It just goes all the way to those US bank accounts which we wont have the username and password for because it's technically Wise's account. Strange...

Maybe a separate question, tried searching thread but didnt find a direct answer. Can I use TransferWise to wire the funds in (as in not ACH, just wire transfer via SWIFT)? If can, what sender account details do I key in at IBKR like account number swift code etc? Ie. how do I get the right Wise account details to key in for IBKR?

Apologies in advance if questions are too elementary.

you don't need user name and password... the ach method needs to verify that you have control over the account... and you do through wise... ibkr will make 2 small deposits and 1 withdrawal once you confirm the deposits... this will connect both accounts

the wise routing number will show what bank wise has set it up for you... it is either evolve bank and trust or community federal something something... you can find this info under your wise usd account...

How do I use margin account "safely", meaning like a cash account? Do I use margin account to buy some stuff, and if the order happens to get filled, then I pump cash into my account immediately?

If the above is true, how long do I have to pump cash into my account after the order gets filled?
