Hi folks, has anyone tried setting up the withdrawal steps for IBKR to Malaysia banks?
I am wondering about the fees incurred, and if there's a better way to do it (no SG account)
Also, we have to provide a correspondent information for the selected bank to withdraw back to?

Yes they do. I send USD directly to IBKR via Maybank.

That's different. That's TT which is more expensive.

Same here suspecting similar to the post above. You used Instarem for the transfer above too right? Cuz in IBKR FAQ they listed
"IBKR accepts a variety of electronic transfer methods, which vary by the currency type and local payment systems. PayPal, Skrill, WorldPay, Instarem, Western Union, MoneyGram, Citibank Global Transfers and Online Peer to Peer payment systems (e.g., Venmo, Google Wallet, Zelle, Neteller, QuickPay & Square Cash) are not supported."
Curious if they don't officially support it but they would credit anyways with extra review. I'm using IBKR btw and not whitelabels

Just an update. My transactions went through. Both Instarem and Transferwise.

Hi just registered and so far still waiting for approval.
"Fund your account" still pending
while "Confirm Mobile Number" & "Submit A Document To Verify Your Residential Address" COMPLETED.

Got an email from them this morning, asking me to check "Message Center" for a ticket.

But where do you access "Message Center"?

This is the email I received
And this is my page when I login.
But I dont see any help link or Support Menu option??  sweat.gif

Go deposit money in. They prioritise those who put money in.
Few days after deposit still not approved, email them. You can find their customer service email in this thread.

Yeah deposited since Monday.
Thought something happened or not approved.
Only this morning Transferwise status changed to "Your transfer's complete"
But might take another "2 working days"....

Money takes few days to arrive.

Looks like you opted for third-parties (e.g. Instarem/Transferwise etc) to place your first deposit.
This makes it harder for them to verify your identity.
I suggest you email them next Monday if still no progress.

I think first.
Now that you already deposited, just leave it.
For subsequently deposits, they may check once in a while.
So far they only asked me to verify once.

Hi everyone,
I have an IKBR account, and I tried buying Irish-domiciled ETFs. But sadly the IKBR commission was 5USD per ETF (from LSE), even when it was just 1 or 2 units sad.gif That's much more than the US-domiciled ETFs (1USD). Can anyone tell me the commission fee for ETFs such as VDEV and IGLO at Tradestation? Thanks!

Got a few Irish domiciled ETFs in other exchanges too (e.g. in Italian stock exchange so the ETF is in EUR not GBP). Commission fees can be found on TSG website.

If you really want to save on fees, perform your transactions in bulk >5 units.

Yes. No need. CIMB SG only ask for IC if I recall correctly but you need to have CIMB MY account. They don't required you to live in SG.

Read this dedicated thread for SG bank accounts then ask there if you have questions:

Hi,

Means I had to go SG personally to open an account there? Just bring IC/PASSPORT enough? Correct for my understanding?

I don't think you can. Not sure if anyone was successful.
So the only way to obtain USD is to send another currency and convert into USD in the app itself (paying a small fee).

No need to go there la. Go to CIMB SG website. Look how to open Fastsavers account (SGD). Got Malaysian option there.

Go ask that thread, stop asking here. Also, go read the thread before posting. Imagine if everyday got people asking the same question that has been answered years ago.

Is your account pure IBKR or whitelabel? If whitelabel, it should be way cheaper than that.

Thanks for the update Yggdrasil. As of now it's been 48 hours and still no news from IBKR. Had to approach customer support to expedite it.

I noticed the rate for TW is actually better than Instarem now. I'll probably make another transaction via them instead.

i see, without live data it will be delay? normally you guys all buy live data? or which platform is user friendly?
I play to trade shares for US / SG
*
Yep it would be delayed data, iirc 15 minutes. I plan to trade options so maybe I'll just subscribe to OPRA data 1.5/month. Stock live data I use tradingview since I do charting there anyways. If you want to save money suggest you do the same as it won't be much diff unless you're day trading alot then just go for their data.

Yeah Instarem raised their fees.
Someone told me Sunway Money is cheapest though.
