Time Trap is pretty fun. Love it when low budget scifi like this goes above and beyond of what they can.

The Devil All The Time - a very dark misery porn. Chronicles how Tom Holland's character trap in a vicious cycle of tragedies permeate by religious fanaticism or misappropriation of it. It's not about a cult or anything like that, just assholes done terrible things in the name of God. Sleazy pastor, delusional believers, serial killer and a corrupted sheriff that makes up this bleak watching experience. You will be pissed not because it's bad but how sad the film is. Good to great performances from the ensemble cast. Those Brits really unleashed the Southern accent twang better than Americans.

Cutie - The controversy surrounding this movie is overblown. It's not a film made for pedophiles but a cautionary tale of adolescent. Yes you have young girls performing sexualised dance moves but it's the messaging of a cliché that don't leave your child unsupervised. A decent indie effort with charming child actors.

Finished Aggretsuko S3. This season is alot better than S2 and seems to deal with the culture of toxic fanbase. And story took quite a turn too.

#Alive is out, and it's....ok. Didn't expect it to be more of a romantic comedy featuring zombie.

Same. Quite simple and well done, but ok only.

The Haunting Of Hill House is a good watch

the director was really good in mixing the timeline between current and past of the Crain family without too many jump scares

but the build up was good and eerie feelings was felt from episode 1 to last episode...

another catch are hidden ghosts through the episodes, hidden from plain viewing but if you look closely you can see many ghosts lurking behind..

They finally added the last 2 seasons of Voltron to Netflix Malaysia. Good lord that took forever.

On the mood for some documentary lately, so I watched this:

The Social Dilemma -- About the predatory nature of social media, their corporations and how the design evolved over the years. Highly recommended. It really highlight how powerless we are against corporations without any proper regulations from the government.

American Murder: The Family Next Door -- About the highly publicized Watts family murder in 2018. Good lord this is harrowing and just all around depressing.

American Vandal season 2 --- This one is actually a mockumentary (as in fake documentary done for comedy). This season saw our favorite investigator pair visiting another school to unravel the mystery of The Turd Burglar. It's so damn good and really funny. Lots of twist too.

Pretty sure it's because some channel in Hypptv hold the broadcast licensing first, so Netflix had to wait until it runs out.

Dragon Prince already renewed for 4 season, no worries. Seems Netflix is pretty quick on renewing a series that can be done in WFH scenario.

filming a series that requires extremely close body contact during this pandemic time is close to impossible
even if it's possible, production cost could balloon up for all the extra precautions need to be taken, probably extra cost for covid insurance

who knows, maybe when the pandemic is gone, there will be renewed interest to revive the series, heck some series even waited for decades to have it's next season tongue.gif

Adam Sandler is no longer funny to watch in Hubie Halloween. Very, very few sparkle in a largely forgettable movie. I didn't enjoy The Ridiculous 6 either. Adam's jokes are becoming stale, a lot like watching Jackie Chan's repetitive fighting scenes.

The Haunting of Bly Manor

The same casts & producers return for another round of acclaimed "horror" series.
Why the "horror" there? Bcos it's more of a love story than a proper horror.
Loves stories there are the main dish, horror are served as side dish

There are some plot twists there similar to the Hill House, but IMO the main revelation here is kinda underwhelming, also IMO there's too many monologues & repetitive scenes, and some scenes and episodes are kinda boring.

If Hill House is making your skin crawls but this? it's kinda underwhelming... not scary enough
Bend neck lady FTW vs the Lady in the Lake

If I were to rate the Hill House an A+, this Bly Manor only deserve a B-, but nonetheless still a good "horror" show

Agreed. Finished watching it and I'll also agree its not really a ghost story. As per growned up Flora said at the end, "its a love story". I only felt sad for Hannah and Dani, but not really scared of anything else. In Hill House I've actually felt sad for Nell and scared of her bend neck ghost too. Its just 6/10, underwhelming and overhyped.
