Been binged watching mindhunter. I loved how it stayed true to the 70s, bill smoked everywhere. In office, in airports, hell even in flights too lol
I can't stand holden though, he was supposed to be a genius but really gave the impression of arrogant, self absorbed, holier than thou attitude.

Just watched The Irishman. Holy batman, 3 hours and a half of pure awesomeness. Since i liked the godfather then maybe I'm abit biased because this got all the vibe of the godfather too, hell they even played the iconic godfather theme song early on in the restaurant scene giving me a goosebump lol The movie is full of suble jokes too here and there. Frank: I'm sorry but i gotta direct youse to my attorney mr ragano if youse wanna talk about mr hoffa or any matter for that matter. I got nothing new to say. The fbi guy: he's dead. Frank: who's dead? The fbi guy: your attorney, mr ragano. Frank: he's dead? Who did it? The fbi guy: ..... cancer. I laughed so hard Anyone liked crime, mafia themed slow burning movie then this is to be watched. 10/10

Just watched 2 early episode of the witcher. Not that good but not terrible either. Mind you i didn't visit it already knew the storyline because i haven't read the book nor played the game. The pace are abit "fast" for my liking, plus a few inconsistency like geralt was supposed to be a miserable loner because he was shunned all his life but then he can insta befriend the annoying joker from the tavern just fine. Like wtf? Passive aggresive friendly loner.
Another thing, maybe its really in the book but I wouldn't know, what with the full frontal nudity already in ep1? Giving the impression of games of thrones wannabe

Just got the chance to binge watch Castlevania and holy shit, its very good. The Witcher failed to keep my interest or attention after few episodes but Castlevania did, enough gore and jokes to my liking.

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Oct 13 2020, 10:50 AM) The Haunting of Bly ManorThe same casts & producers return for another round of acclaimed "horror" series. Why the "horror" there? Bcos it's more of a love story than a proper horror. Loves stories there are the main dish, horror are served as side dish There are some plot twists there similar to the Hill House, but IMO the main revelation here is kinda underwhelming, also IMO there's too many monologues & repetitive scenes, and some scenes and episodes are kinda boring. If Hill House is making your skin crawls but this? it's kinda underwhelming... not scary enough Bend neck lady FTW vs the Lady in the Lake If I were to rate the Hill House an A+, this Bly Manor only deserve a B-, but nonetheless still a good "horror" show Agreed. Finished watching it and I'll also agree its not really a ghost story. As per growned up Flora said at the end, "its a love story". I only felt sad for Hannah and Dani, but not really scared of anything else. In Hill House I've actually felt sad for Nell and scared of her bend neck ghost too. Its just 6/10, underwhelming and overhyped.

I'm halfway through Sweet Home. Never read the graphic novel it was based on so I'm not biased comparing the series with the graphic novel. While the cgi is, well, not so good or maybe borderline terrible for 2020 standard, the storyline is superb. Not going to rate it since I'm not done watching it yet but its definitely good so far.
Edited: finally finished watching. Overall not too bad but not near perfect either. Some plotholes (maybe later will be answered in season 2, if theres ever be?), some messy continuation, some weak character buildup, and like i previously said; terrible cgi. I'll rate 6-6.5/10.

I just finished watching the ying yang master. Quite good for a chinese kungfu movie, to be expected from Netflix originals. Just that i couldn't figure out why qingming and boya gave too much of gay-ish vibe. Probably because the potrayal of their friendship is too over the top, or if that gay-ish vibe really the intention of producer/script writer. Overall a really good kungfu movie, entertaining and made me watch till the end. Around 6-7/10.

Just finish watching Love and Monsters and it surprised me by how good it is. A lil bit cliche on the storyline but superb execution overall, especially on the mutated monster premise. Theres a plothole I'm not satisfied because no proper conclusion given to it. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « What happened to the og owner of Boy the dog ie the red dress owner? died? missing? The dog looks healthy so he couldn't be living on his own for a long time, could he? Overall a good flick, maybe around 7/10. If they make it into a series like twd but instead of zombies we got those mutated monsters, I'd definitely watch it.

Just finished another one, Synchronic. Watched because of Anthony Mackie. Abit slow at the start but it took off pretty well, and I can't shake the feeling of the dialogue between the 2 main character to be too.. umm βpoetic"? Like some zenmaster talking lol. The premise is about 2 paramedics encountering victims of synthetic drugs that can bend time, basically time travel pills. Like the pills in Project Power that granted superpowers, these pills will make the consumer travel back in time for 7 minutes. Abit of semi spoiler » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The ending aren't cliche at all.
A good sci-fi flick, I'd say around 6.5/10. Highly recommended for sci-fi lover. I lol'ed abit when saw 2 instance of the film taking a jab at sjw. Won't spoil on how, but you'll definitely see it if you watch the film This post has been edited by axxer: Apr 20 2021, 05:30 AM

Just finished binged watching Yasuke. Its actually pretty good for an anime. I'd rate it around 6.5/10, not higher because its too short imho, only 6 episodes and 2 major antagonist. Since its about samurais, theres some 18+ gore actions like seppuku, beheading, cutting limbs etc. They also didn't shy on portraying blood from the gore lol. I liked anime so i might be biased tho but Netflix seems pretty good at producing anime series lately like Dota, and Yasuke.

Finished watching the horror thriller Things Heard & Seen. I watched it because saw Amanda Seyfried name in the cast. Not her best performance but not her worst too. The movie itself was just blerghh, too many things unexplained, and good god.. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « the ending, the horrible wtf ending... I rate it 4.5/10, passable as an okay-is watch if theres nothing else to watch. I'd rate it lower if not for Amanda's acting.

Anyone finished Castlevania s4 yet? I'm just a few ep into s4 but so far its still so wonderful like previous seasons. Funny dirty jokes and funny overall jokes everywhere. I laughed so hard when Varney called Isaac via the magic mirror but Isaac hung up on him and told the mirror to not ever allow Varney to call him again

The Gray Man just released. I hated the action sequence, very messy and fucking shaky. Like they purposedly made the shot to be super shaky. Idk, maybe to exaggerate the supposedly adrenaline inducing, action stuff? But hell, its super shaky camera shots, can't make up heads and tail, can't see who shot who or who punched who. Smh netflix.

QUOTE(hybr1d3d @ Jul 23 2022, 02:41 AM) And too much fpv shots... i know fpv drone shots are more energetic but they overused it... and the score sounds repetitive and lost the tension... not sure if its because of budget or russo bros lost their touch Yeah I've noticed the overused high angle shots too. Forgot to mentioned the pitch black darkness shots. In daylight fights like at the plaza and on the train, its barely watchable. But at night or in building fights sequence like in the plane or at the hospital then get prepare to feel like punching the screen. The pre-climax fight is both at night and in a building. Ughhhh

Just watched all quiet on the western front. Didn't even know it was based on a novel. Not sure whether its faithful to the source novel or not but the movie is very, very good for a war movie. Perfectly visualized the horrors of war. I usually avoid non english movie but this one I've stucked to the end, which is very long at 2 hours and a half. Its rated r, expect many gory scene; dismembered, self harm etc.

Just watched black mirror s06e01. I laughed so hard lmao. Highly meta with the multiverse, the irony of "streaming service" and the salma hayek literal shitting in a chuch while a wedding ceremony is ongoing. 10/10 πππ
