Urghhhhhhh....Netflix cancelled GLOW after renewing them for the final season because of Covid.

filming a series that requires extremely close body contact during this pandemic time is close to impossible even if it's possible, production cost could balloon up for all the extra precautions need to be taken, probably extra cost for covid insurance
who knows, maybe when the pandemic is gone, there will be renewed interest to revive the series, heck some series even waited for decades to have it's next season
Hahahaha reminds me of trying 2 shoot 30 shades of grey in social distancing fashion
Pretty good action flick that doesn't play with the usual Hollywood fluffs. It's the more gritty and raw that we used to get from Luc Bresson, Michael Mann,etc... Innocent hero need to recover a bullet that proves his innocence. Navigating corrupt cops and crooks with fine action cinema. It's not gonna be a game changer but just well made.

Rogue City/Bronx - So-so only. Initially thought the premise can be interesting but pacing and cliches drag the movie down. It tries to be serious crime drama but story threads too messy for coherent escalation. You have too many players turning clogs with unsatisfactory payoffs. Not badly made, just took too long to get going with messy plotlines. Better off you go watch Zero Zero Zero the excellent crime drama that severely overlooked.

If you are eager to scratch the itch for series like Band of Brothers, this is the one that will ease the itch
Excellent WWII stories told in 4 short "animated" episodes, each detailing the different WWII European campaigns, exposing some sensitive topics that usually weren't told in other war stories.
Are the Nazis really evil? are they the only one that commits war crimes? how were the non-whites US troops are threated by their own?
I rate this as an excellent solid 5/5 miniseries on WWII, the only complain I have is it's too short! wished it has more episodes

Haha maybe season 2 is plan for 2021
doubt there gonna be S2, it's based on a book, and at the war ended at the end, our hero balik kampung already, so that's the end.
It was originally planned as a 8 episodes miniseries on History channel, somehow didn't make it there, and Netflix come to rescue and pick it up, end up with 4 episodes only.

Mosul
A Netflix movie based on a true event about a team Iraqi SWAT team fighting against the Isis in the war ravaged Mosul, their story unfold from the eyes of the new young recruit.
One of the very few (can count by one hand) middle east movies I actually watch. Maybe was having some prejudice against them previously...
But surprised surprised, it is damn good!!!
Story is engaging, action top notch, and boy... the ending is really unexpected!
I wouldn't spoil much of the plot here, but please go watch it.
If compared to the recent action movies by Netflix like Thor's Extraction, this won by miles.

The Trial of the Chicago 7 - It's the least Sorkin movie I've ever seen. You don't have character spewing lines over each other nonstop. Instead you have breathing room in between scenes and you get to enjoy the performance a little more than usual. Granted this is not masterpiece cinema but a damn good court drama. It's nice to see how they jumping over how things has come to be to deliver the strong closing of the movie. Good performances and the lengthy screen time just pass you by with good pacing.

Mank - A little underwhelming for me. Beautifully shot but hard to get into it. It's not that wild circus of how Citizen Kane being made but a character study of eccentric scriptwriter Herman Mankiewicz aka Mank. He is an accomplished journalist suck into the excess of Hollywood lifestyles as the genius scriptwriter. He grew a conscious to derail his career by offending William Randolf Hearst the media mogul of Hollywood golden age. It's a very political themed film where you get to see why and how Mank decide to risk it all to write Citizen Kane. It's not a redemption story either but just a stubborn genius decide to do the right thing by risking it all.
