hi all. can anyone recommend me a speaker for my laptop? my budget is below rm200. preferably altec lansing or evo series. btw, which is better? AL or EVO?

Why don't you try Creative Gigaworks T20, RM200 in Garage Sales...

Don't ever think about Evo portable speaker from Creative actually quite good

I recommend Z-5500D too try pair it with Xonar D2X u will be amaze of its quality

his budget 200 only haha. But i woudnt recommend for music user. Only Gaming/Movie.

i totally disagree. With the right setting z-5500D sound even more amazing then my Pionner HIFI system

What will be the best setting or right setting? for movie, i believe it really good, but for music, i dont think so. i think most ppl here really interest with your words..and ur Pioneer HIFI system lose to 5500?

You can't say anything until you have listened both and comparison is done.

Can say like that la , now saving money for next speaker , either Hifi 2.0 or S730 .

Well i guess that the pioneer model he have maybe is not very good. In that case, the Z5500 could be better.

Z5500 is a good speaker! But it does not shine in music. I use Direct Stereo Mode, built in driver of PSC805, foobar2000, volume 40%, sub 2 and 1/3 bar. It took me 3 yrs of listening to arrive to this setting. But my hifi easily pwn it, but ofcoz cant compare like that cause the price difference is too much (return to topic as this is pc speaker thread). Z5500 lacking clarity of what i have heard from edifiers and realism of instruments. Tho soundstaging is excellent

Z5500 is better for games and movie as it really has the bass for that boom effect.

Just my opinion so dun flame me, im also a Z5500 owner and i love it

if i not loook at the title of the thread, i thought who so rich buy MITSUBISHI EVO .. I suggest if u can raise a bit money, get edifier E3300 (RM230), not sure about E3100. Depend ur budget.Sonic gear EVO series is all economic speaker, all EVO series is not more than rm210.1 sen 1 quality.Anyway, most important is u straight go listen the EVO sound 1st. best thing for buying speaker is tat u can listen b4 buy. If u satisfy and it suit u, just buy it..
