Streamyx limit the download speed from account login name right?
If someone using login account that can go for 4mb, but in the end still found out his spd is 2mb so there is also speed limit on their port?
Is that anyway for us to check our area can support up to 8mb or not?

I really wonder whether TM will:

1. Maintain speed for all Streamyx users that don't apply for a speed upgrade whilst reducing price to RM69 for everyone.

2. Upgrade all Streamyx to maximum speed available under the current infrastructure and also reduce prices to RM69.

If no. 1, then better for users to apply to TM to upgrade to maximum speed in this month (Aug), as they'd lose out compared to those that don't. Potentially, someone in an area with 8Mbps may only get a speed of 1Mbps or less whilst paying RM69 while another can get 8Mbps @RM69.

Weird situation to be in...

1MB = RM69
8MB = RM69

What kind of solution is this ?

I don't see any telco comes out at
10GB subscription RM 69
80GB subscription RM 69

Rather , give us a unifi air when you takeyour time to upgrade unifi in our area. Even 100m next house got unifi also cannot pull a line.

I don't know which contractor and condition.

How hard can a contractor lay a fiber at next house 50-100m ?

That's their dirty tactic and catch.

They'll quietly make you re-contract for another 24 months and force you to accept their unfair REMAINING MONTHS early termination penalty to keep you tied for the next 2 years.

That's ALWAYS the reason for them to force all their customers to do manual speed upgrade.

Do not fall for this trick. If your contract is nearly over, wait patiently for new players to come as they fibrerize your area then switch.

Maintenance cost for dsl infrastructures are expensive bro, if discount every 1mbps user like rm 20, they gonna loss alot,

In Australia and many other countries, for old tech Adsl they did the same pricing, their plan usually like "up to 24Mbps" for a fix price, and how much u get is depend on ur location and line quality, unless use better tech like fiber optic then is cheaper and faster

Nothing they can do unless they use some tech like Gigawire which TM did mention they will implement it on capable areas

If they cant expand fiber coverage on certain area, they will use gigawire, if no gigawire, then sorry u stuck with old speed,

Want better speed? Go for Unifi Air

That's their current plan now :x

Let me break it down easily for better understanding. Let say:

Now: 1Mbps RM110
Sept onwards: 1Mbps RM69

OR

Now: 8Mbps RM160/month
Sept onwards: 8Mbps RM69

OR

8Mbps is available in your area
Now: Upgrade from whatever speed you're using now (e.g. 2Mbps), to 8Mbps before 31 Aug
Sept: 8Mbps RM160
Oct onwards: 8Mbps RM69

OR

Now: Upgrade from whatever speed you're is using now (e.g. 2Mbps), to 10Mbps Unifi VDSL before 31 Aug
Sept: 10Mbps RM129
Oct onwards: 10Mbps RM69

OR

Existing Unifi Lite VDSL 10Mbps:
Now: 10Mbps RM129
Sept onwards: 10Mbps RM69

In conclusion, whatever you pay for TM copper internet service (doesn't matter Streamyx ADSL or VDSL) of up to 10Mbps speeds that you're on by 31 Aug 2019, EVERYTHING will go down to the price tag of RM69 on September/October.
Speed ah? You own self settle. No auto upgrade for you, and contract will restart if you make any changes to your speed packages.

If you're on 30Mbps speed on Unifi VDSL, that is not applicable here.

Hope this explains all your wonders about the #khabarbaik but seems like #khabarpelik to Streamyx and VDSL users.

They refer Unifi Lite SUBB, means it's VDSL.
It is the same telephone copper cable that you use on Streamyx, but VDSL technology is advanced than Streamyx ADSL which it supports faster speeds.
Therefore, your modem must make sure can support VDSL.

TM don't label their products with technical names like this, perhaps they dont wanna confuse their customers, and make it easier.

Yes, Internet only. Exclude TV and monthly access fee to telephone service (if you have one).

Tell them you don't want that Unifi TV or Unifi playTV service if you're not using it. It should be optional now...
