RM69 for 8mbps only, no way!
Just extend your infrastructure to all non-unifi area, many are willing to switch from streamyx.

My area almost 15 years no unifi, until today max speed for streamyx only 1mbps!!
*
Then at least your Streamyx bill will be reduced to RM69/month, and it shall stay at 1Mbps or possibly higher to the max speed available in your area.
Or you may consider Unifi Air for RM79/month (4G LTE wireless broadband), speed up to 20Mbps. Ask TM for more info.

do they extend contract for 2 more years after reduce price?
*

No. Any existing contracts will remain unchanged.

Let me break it down easily for better understanding. Let say:

Now: 1Mbps RM110
Sept onwards: 1Mbps RM69

OR

Now: 8Mbps RM160/month
Sept onwards: 8Mbps RM69

OR

8Mbps is available in your area
Now: Upgrade from whatever speed you're using now (e.g. 2Mbps), to 8Mbps before 31 Aug
Sept: 8Mbps RM160
Oct onwards: 8Mbps RM69

OR

Now: Upgrade from whatever speed you're is using now (e.g. 2Mbps), to 10Mbps Unifi VDSL before 31 Aug
Sept: 10Mbps RM129
Oct onwards: 10Mbps RM69

OR

Existing Unifi Lite VDSL 10Mbps:
Now: 10Mbps RM129
Sept onwards: 10Mbps RM69

In conclusion, whatever you pay for TM copper internet service (doesn't matter Streamyx ADSL or VDSL) of up to 10Mbps speeds that you're on by 31 Aug 2019, EVERYTHING will go down to the price tag of RM69 on September/October.
Speed ah? You own self settle. No auto upgrade for you, and contract will restart if you make any changes to your speed packages.

If you're on 30Mbps speed on Unifi VDSL, that is not applicable here.

Hope this explains all your wonders about the #khabarbaik but seems like #khabarpelik to Streamyx and VDSL users.

What is unifi lite SUBB? Can't find it in their website
*

They refer Unifi Lite SUBB, means it's VDSL.
It is the same telephone copper cable that you use on Streamyx, but VDSL technology is advanced than Streamyx ADSL which it supports faster speeds.
Therefore, your modem must make sure can support VDSL.

TM don't label their products with technical names like this, perhaps they dont wanna confuse their customers, and make it easier.

That unifi lite 10mbps rm69 just for internet right? You still need to pay rm30 compulsory for tv channel by them and total bill iis rm99. That what live tmchat reply to me
*

Yes, Internet only. Exclude TV and monthly access fee to telephone service (if you have one).

Tell them you don't want that Unifi TV or Unifi playTV service if you're not using it. It should be optional now...

If tv service just optional will be nice. I will visit tmpoint soon for details since my area support 10mbps SUBB
*

Sorry. I got the confirmation from TM that Unifi Lite 10Mbps VDSL includes Unifi TV (worth RM30/month).
So it will be RM69+RM30=RM99/month for Unifi Lite 10Mbps VDSL

You can only terminate the Unifi TV subscription after the Unifi TV contract ends after 1 year. There's no option for you to say no, to Unifi TV.
Which you can also say,
1-12th month = RM69+RM30=RM99/month
13th month onwards = RM69/month if you decided to terminate Unifi TV, and continue with your 10Mbps Unifi VDSL.

However, if you upgrade to Streamyx 8Mbps, the Unifi TV service is optional. If you want, just add RM30/month.
So if you don't subscribe to Unifi TV, then you just pay RM69/month for 8Mbps.

Don't forget to ask unifi 30M package unlimited rm89 ... if ur area tmpoint got offer.
No unifi tv extra charge to u.
*

This offer is for Fibre or Copper VDSL?
Although customer who want to subscribe can visit to nearest TMpoint, but can the customer asks TM via live chat to see if the 30Mbps RM89/month (without Unifi TV) offer are available in his/her area?

And, if the user already on Unifi and still under contract, can he/she change to this 30Mbps RM89/month plan that excludes Unifi TV (provided this offer is available in his/her area)?

currently I'm using streamyx 2M - RM38 per month, not sure do i need to pay RM69 on Sept onward??
I'm the light user, 2M is more than enough, as most of the time I'm using Maxis 98 plan.

If this the case, I might consider terminate the Streamyx service. Thanks.
*

For those who are on Streamyx plans below RM69, the price and speed will remain as it is, even from September onwards.

or later can I upgrade to 8M for RM69?
*

If you want to enjoy 8Mbps for RM69, then faster go contact TM to upgrade to 8Mbps before 31 Aug 2019.
Then on your Sept bill, pay the old RM160/month rate, then enjoy RM69/month for 8Mbps from October onwards.

If can, it is recommended that you upgrade to 10Mbps Unifi VDSL. Ask TM to check if your area can support Unifi VDSL.

Note: Unifi VDSL is not fibre internet. It uses the same telephone copper cable like your Streamyx, but it supports faster speeds than older Streamyx's ADSL technology.

Sept bill: RM129 10Mbps OR RM160 8Mbps Streamyx (if Unifi VDSL is not available in your area)
Oct bill: RM69 for 10Mbps* OR 8Mbps

*If you manage to subscribe to Unifi Lite VDSL, unifi playTV (extra RM30/month is included).
If you're not interested in unifi playTV service, you got to contact TM once the reduced RM69 rate is reflected on bill.
Or else, you got to pay RM69 internet + RM30 unifi playTV = RM99/month.
Only existing Unifi Lite customers (or Streamyx upgrade to Unifi Lite) by 31 Aug can choose to exclude unifiTV service once RM69 reflect on bill.

Do note that 12 months contract will apply if there is any speed package change.

for my case..my parent's home are still using streamyx..

when i asked thm...the CS told me i wont be getting speed upgrade for it..

speed and monthly fee remains the same..

just the name of the service will be change to Unifi Lite..
*

If your Streamyx package that your parents subscribed to, is RM69 or lower, the price will remain as it is.
Speed upgrades can only be done manually by customer, meaning you have to contact TM if you want to upgrade your speed.

You can ask TM if your parents home's area can support 8Mbps or 10Mbps VDSL.
If can, it is recommended that you upgrade to 10Mbps VDSL.

*If you manage to subscribe to Unifi Lite VDSL, you got to contact TM as your bill shown as RM69 rate to tell them you're not interested in unifi playTV service.
Or else, you got to pay RM69 internet + RM30 unifi playTV = RM99/month

How do I Check my house support VDSL ?
*

Live chat with TM here https://livechat.tm.com.my/
For coverage related questions, select Billing Enquiry category.
At the beginning of the chat, they'll ask for account holder name, and your fixed line telephone number. Then, they'll have your account information already.

If you prefer calling 100, select Sales Department by pressing 4 in one of the menu options after selecting language.

I mean did you tried to ask before on VDSL ? Will try later on , anyway to check through router ?
*

Yes I did ask before, and they'll tell you if you're area has VDSL or not.

To check through router, look at your router or modem type. If your modem indicates a "ADSL", then you're using the old Streamyx ADSL system. Example:
user posted image

Even if you're using Streamyx ADSL, there's still a chance that VDSL may be available in your area (provided if they've upgraded your area),

But if your modem has a "VDSL2" like this (the bottom one) then... Yeah, you're using VDSL.

The modems shown in this photos are just an example, and may look different than the one you're using.

Ok , I will make a call to them.
The old smyx modem they give was this.In the setting is there a way to check whether using vdsl ?
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

I'll try and ask again.
*

Wah... This Zyxel model can put into museum dy...
That is ADSL modem, which is pretty obvious to guess la...
Cuz back then when Unifi was introduced, VDSL is only used in high rise buildings instead of landed houses.
Not until in recent years, TM started to upgrade from the old Streamyx ADSL customers to Unifi VDSL for landed houses, due to the pressure by the public for faster speeds and lower prices.

Both ADSL and VDSL are also uses the same telephone copper cable, but the technology is different. Although VDSL technology can support faster speeds than ADSL (the slow Streamyx), it's still couldn't match like fibre internet does.
