Hi,

Anyone here heard of this company or working in this company? It is part of DONG Energy?

I heard so many people say good thing about this company like work life balance, good benefit package, bonus average. So before go interview, I want to know is this company really good as what people claim?

My friend is working there. The office is in Bangsar South.
What you read from the review, I can say everything is almost true. biggrin.gif
Based on the story I heard from my friend, why the received all of the benefits, is because their HR team is very well performed. Employee comes first. Good in people management.

Just go for it, and I wish you good luck. If you got the position, feel free to share with us here smile.gif

depend on your working hour.. if normal working hour, i would say traffic is quite bad either from NPE or Federal Highway. Not sure if coming from Bangsar area.

He's still new, I think around 1 year. But always update his IG story about what he did in the office biggrin.gif
Workload I believe it's depending on your position. I'm not sure what's the exact position name, but he's dealing with the server. Even for him, working hour is not following Malaysian time.
Bangsar I can say, quite bad, hard to find parking, unless you have staff parking. Accessible by LRT (Kerinchi). If you re not planning to move, then your choice is KTM - LRT
If you ride motor, then it's a better choice.

i have a friends currently working in Bangsar South office which lives in Labu and another one in Nilai. Both driving from and to Bangsar South, but needs to leave a bit early. The traffic quite bad, but good things still can move because police traffice is always there during peak hours to control the traffic.

What I can say. THERE IS NO PLACE IN MY EXPERIENCES FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS THAT I CAN COMPARE WITH THIS COMPANY.

Do you able to advise how much the season parking in Bangsar South? Orsted have flexible working hours, but want to know, how 'flexible' is flexible? smile.gif

I've complete the HR interview and now pending for offer letter (if selected). Hope for the best.

Yes, my family stay in Seremban, so to move it is quite difficult due to kids and my wife working in Seremban. If working hours is flexible, then should be less stressful due to commuting and traffic jam during peak hours.

Not sure about the season parking, but expect around rm300-400 every quarter. So, around 100++ something per month. Flexible working hours depending on your team and your line manager as well. Some people come early and go back early, some people come late and go back early also have. most coming at 10am, some comes around 11am. go back at 4pm or 5pm. most of them before 6pm, already gone from the office

Hmm am working as a HCM consultant
During my implementation, it’s hard to find those 5yrs exp with 10k salary above
If you got that figure, then it’s good to you
My experience, 4-5 years exp, reach 5k pun susah.
Unless you’re from o&g industry, range is different smile.gif

Should be ok if i can get season parking. I believe my team need to stay back a little bit longer due to we may have meeting with Denmark counterparts. I hope my hiring manager also flexible, as long as my job done with quality and he can allow me to go back earlier.

Just to know the culture here, does the hiring manager expect us to work extra hours/weekend? I mean for non-shift employees.

Weekend dont think so, but extra hours probably not too long also, those DK guys always go back early as well, so maybe like 7-8pm max u stayback. it depends,i dont see people in dev team working extra late like 9-10, they are the one who go back early like b4 6pm.

LRT Kerinchi also can, they have covered walkaway from LRT to the Bangsar South, while LRT Universiti, you have to passthrough KL Gateway Mall, cross the road and walking about 10 minutes to reach the Bangsar South.

Just to the website and see the available position, if there is more, should be posted in the site as well.

Got 3 stage of interviews

1) Technical interview
2) Hiring Manager Interview
3) HR Interview

Before HR interview, need to take online test which consists of behavior and attitude.

I have just got my offer letter today and wondering what some of the benefits are?

In the contract i am given phone allowance, broadband allowance, medical insurances and a mention of kpi performance bonus per year. Is there anything else i am missing?

Thanks!

Hey, I keep seeing positions opened up for Orsted, for software development. Almost every month ada, either FE, BE, data, or cloud.

You guys expanding or do people keep leaving?

Anyway, possible to WFH most of the time, even after this c19 over?

the company are expanding, from my observation, very seldom people leave orsted, its like 1-2 people every 2-3 months. i think most of people are like it here. the manager is good and resourceful, colleague is nice. the company really take care of their employees, since its based from Denmark, they bring the culture here and it is really good. As for WFH, well, only essential staff have to work like those work in hardware it support (if they need it), but the rest, all must WFH probably in the next few months - there are also plan to make WFH as practice soon, not sure when, the company will provide you with workdesk and chair later. and mind u, its the expensive one, and the table is the flexible where you can push the button to elevate the table if prefer to work stand and sit. ok done promote. haha

In the contract i am given phone allowance, broadband allowance, medical insurances and a mention of kpi performance bonus per year. Is there anything else i am missing?

All staff bro, no exception unless intern biggrin.gif

the iPhone is your perk, use like your own one, not particularly for job only. As for standby phone or etc, you get another iPhone also, but that one have to pass to your colleague la once your turn is over that week.

Hi Stanum,

I see a job offer for .NET developer and I kind of interested, however do you think WFH 50-100% will be implemented soon? Because I'm thinking to find a job where I can WFH since I already invested thousands of ringgit for my home workstation setup.

Also I know this is confidential but how about the performance bonus ya? Is it like 1.5 months max or average 3 months since I came from GLC FIs background and bonus is one of my criteria (except they pay very well).

Thanks!

Perhaps you can try troubleshooting the issue with some steps below.

1) Try a different format for your resume (e.g. PDF, Docx, Doc, etc..etc..)
2) Try reducing the size, some websites have say a 1MB size limit or a 2MB size limit.
3) Try a different browser and try uploading your resume
4) Turn off any adblockers for the site

These are just some of my guesses based on the limited information that I have currently.

What position are you applying for?

For PI test, first thing first is to select your comfortable language first (your mother tongue) so it would be easy for you to answer statement question. If possible don't spend too much on each question. You have roughly 14s for each question. But i am not sure how does this test would affect the employment because they never discuss about this after the IV laugh.gif

1. What questions that would be asked by interviewers in HR
Interview?
2. They ask to prepare a presentation, anything I should prepare besides introduce myself?

This is the 2nd interview, I'm kinda nervous

What i hear from my friend, it is depends on your line manager and counterpart. If they are Ok, then you will be ok, if they are very micromanage, then you life will not be very easy.

Generally, it is a good company, but expect very less in bonus and increment. Salary adjustment also average.

It just mean that you need to ask for higher salary adjustment when you join in. Based from what i have heard, their salary range is quite big.

Yeah it is still depends on your current salary as well. But in term of culture, I heard it is good but can be varies on team. Turnout over are still high even though the KL team is expanding.

You need to request a very high salary that can sustain your life at least for 3-5 years. It is still depends on your luck and negotiation skills.

Increment is depends on your boss. Can be around 3-5%. It is standard I can say.

Bonus it is max to 1.5 months but depends on your performance as well. Top performer can get between 1.3 and 1.5 but others average 1 month. It is normal for IT i guess.

Turnover is something that any company cannot control because it is up to individual preferences and choices.

True, Orsted KL is now expanding for engineering and procurement team.

Currently one level of Orsted office still under renovations , I would say still hybrid mode until end of the year. But some department already 100% WFO.

Depends on your leader and team. Management would love to see more staffs in office to increase collaborations and social physicals interactions.

The respond can be quite slow due to high number of applications, I would suggest you actively contact HR Talent Acquisition Partner. Normally you can get the contact person in the career page.

They already put their email and phone number for you to contact. Either Jason/Haslinda/Shawn.

But if there is no contact person, you always can email the general mailbox :

Talent Acquisition Operations MY
talentacquisitionMY@orsted.com

I hope this helps. Good Luck

No problem bro. You always can accept another offer, and when Orsted give you an offer a month later, you can ask for higher salary and negotiate.

It is not your problem that company come back at later stage because sometimes they have 1st candidate, 2nd candidate, and they offered 1st candidate position, and turn out 1st candidate rejected it and that why you as 2nd or 3rd candidate will be selected and offered.

Wow, oil and gas bonus are quite good. Petronas and Shell average 3-6 months. Orsted bonus is capped to 1.5 months. It is mentioned in offer letter as well previously. I’m not sure either the new hired nowdays received samw info on this.

Normally you will get 1 months or 1.2 months because it is really depends on your performance.

You can PM me. I can help. Normally referral all need to apply via website. You just put my name as your referral. Hiring Manager later on will ask me about you personally.

True, not all can go but majority can go. It is really depends on time. Some just join can go, some every year go and some haven’t got chance at all.

It is really depends

Oil and gas = 90% of headcount not working in Operators/ client like Petronas or shell.
Those outside the operators don't get crazy bonus...
So, better correct understanding to just Oil and Gas Operators.. Even that, its for the permanent staff..

Ahh right. But if you jump to IT services , bonus is less. 1 month is something you can expect. It is average.

I do have a friend who worked there..he said bonus is not that high which tallies with what you guys have been saying here - about 1 to 1.5 months. However the benefits are good and working hours are quite flexible. Salary wise I also don't think they can offer very good unless you are already underpaid but like deckhand said they don't lowball and they give you according to the market rate.

My friend told me that they are expanding this year...hiring a lot of IT staffs. Probably cutting headcounts overseas and hire Malaysia here cause we are cheap labors tongue.gif

Agree on salary wise. If you are underpaid, then you will see as a big jump. But if you’re above market, sometimes you need to get a paycut or less than 10% increment. Some of my referral accept, some were rejecting. Anyhow, you have your own bill to pay.

Malaysia rate are super cheap and even the engineering also expanding. Local Malaysia Eng/IT folks are talented and cheap(rate)1 europe guy can pay 3-5 resources in Malaysia.

Not sure can compare to Bangla or not. Haha😅. But all i can say technical stuff position will be handling by Malaysia. Managements will be DK /Europe.

Most of expats worked in Orsted Malaysia for a while before jump ship to Europe for good. Get experience and aim for higher.

Compare to local like us, we are quite loyal. As long as culture is OK, we are happy to stay until retired. Haha.

Overall, still considered as good for Malaysia as otherwise the work would be shipped to India / other countries (which are even cheaper than malaysia) and also those people joining there are in top 10% of Malaysia salary scale for sure.

For Eng, I can’t comment since I’m from IT. Maybe different pay range.

For IT payscale I can said it is top 30 maybe. Salary wise for Senior is starting 12k and cap at 16k. Hardly to reach 18k unless you’re super talented or senior architect.

If you need higher, jump to management , became Cc leader/Head. Salary wise around <23k.

Calculate salary annual vs new annual

Current: (Basic) * 12
Bonus: (Estimated / Average per annum)
Other benefits:

Total :

Vs Orsted
Basic * 12
Bonus: Estimated 1.5-2 Months / annum.
Other benefits: Orsted surely more than any O&G

Total:

Then compare base on above

I was surprised to see the salary range is similar to other Nordic companies. Thought given it's an oil and gas company it'll be higher hmm.gif

Bonus is also lower than I expected...maybe Petronas pays too well? Or it's just rumors as well?

Perception is important in the industry (Whether O&G or not).
Many those joined this company at initial stage was WOW'ed by salary as they (many) came from underpaid background..

PETRONAS pay for permanent is not that crazy but once add bonus and see annual package, can say very good

I was once offered by Petronas for an IT role and I think it pays higher than other industry but I rejected the role because it's still lesser than what I am getting. Bonus I don't know tho..how much bonus does Petronas pays?

Ya perception is important..some says banking gives big bonuses but some of my friends who worked in local bank says otherwise hmm.gif

Bonus depends on which unit and IT not necessary gets same as the main units

Banking - depends on which unit, if working in branch memang salary also not high.
Some banks like RH(X) pays not well..

Afraid no sir. We are under Shared Service ( IT and Finance) , so that’s the pay range. So it someone earn more than 16k, it is very unlikely you will get offer or selected. Even you get offered, it’s not much from what you earn. Having said that, for mid level, it’s good jump.

My colleague from Petronas Digital, around 8-9 years exp. He earn 6.8k. And joined Orsted he received 12k. So big jump for him. But for others, the average pay range for 8-10, some are earn more than 8k.

Last time petronas digital not so much bonus but better for most average IT companies. Between 2-4 months. Depends on performance. Nowadays, i think petronas bonus are align between Digital(IT) and others function. Can’t say I’m sure about this, but that’s the direction.

So yeah if add up bonus + monthly wage, annual is quite ok as well.

since you said flexible hours, may i know if they enforce the work in office thingy?

most tech companies they do enforce 3days WIO 2days WFH arrangement, while some is more flexible as in satisfying x number of WIO days and you can arrange when you like to go office as you like

so how is Orsted going?

and how is the range Orsted paying for mid senior (something between junior and senior) ?

They don't really enforce it as far as I know..it's more to up to your manager and you don't abuse it.

Pay wise I am not sure about the range. I do know if you are getting low paid from other firm..you will probably get more here but if you are already well paid I don't think you will get a lot here.

Yeah. If you’re underpaid then it will be high jump for you. But if you’re already same level or above market average, it will be low for you. Most ppl either accept or reject it. Some of my friend rejected the offer because it is paycut for them and some of them really happy to accept it.

Congratulations and good for you. For senior, normally it is above 6 years experience.

Mostly this range is applied to technical position ( not architect / lead level) and not management role.

Nope. We know our salary range. You have many resources to get it.

1. Glassdoor is one of them.

2. Chat with your colleague or ex-colleague( leavers) sometimes can get the info and rough figure.

3. Chat with your manager (CC leaders) - normally they will give range of salary as well for certain position. Example there is role opening and it is open for internal as well. We can reach out to our cc leaders to get info on the salary range.

Don’t think it’s bout the age, it’s the way they put it in words.

“No angular experience? Then you’re probably somewhere in between a junior and senior level.”

Ngl, for a HR with 0 technical skills to judge someone like that, it’s just pure toxicity. So… at your own risk.

Status in workday is in progress I don’t want to keep hoping but please at least give me a rejection email or something T_T

I got one that send me rejection after few month and biggest company that start with P went ghosting me for more than a year, even after multiple follow up emails.

Haha.. So unless offer letter comes, safe to assume no offer

Saw a lot of LinkedIn posts this week of people being made redundant at Orsted. One guy said he got his notice on Monday and last day yesterday.
How big is this reorganization and whats going on really?

There was news in Feb this year but nothing recent online:
