Can. Sidewinder no need any radar link. The IR seeker on the missile itself will inform the pilot if a lock has been made, via a buzzing beep on the headphone set. It is relatively simple system that is able to be installed on virtually any military or paramilitary-grade airplane nowadays.

Simply activate the missile, point the missile at the target, wait for a buzzing beep (indicating a lock) and you can launch the missile.

36???really???plus gripen in there tho..the C/D ver thai griphen cost around 1.1 billion USD for 12 fighter and 2 Saab S-1000/ S340 Erieye Airborne Early Warning aircraft tho.... unless it get some money from MRCA project before

well if its true can get at that number,i guess it will be really good.....but i doubt it tho

They are all light fighters. Gripen is roughly the same size and carries similar payload to FA-50 while Tejas is actually the smallest of all. JF-17 is the "heaviest" of all the options but they are roughly the same size as F-16 and if you trace F-16 development, they started as LWF (lightweight fighter) programme. Even JF-17 was designed based on J-7/Mig-21.

I think pipu thought just because it's lca it's must be based off a trainer
