This thing about aluminium cabinets....

Actually I have melamine chipboard for base and top wall cabinets for close to 20 years and it is functioning well till today except around the sink due to water and dampness ...

Hence, I'd think aluminium for the whole kitchen is not necessary and a waste of money... should be used around the sink only ....

Hi, can anyone recommend contractor that can do porcelain tabletop with profile as per in this image below, I am planning to do to this to my house at area Gamuda Gardens, Rawang, Selangor

I really like the profile because when there is water splash around the sink it can easily get into the sink

The specs of the kitchen cabinet I want is as follows

✓concrete tabletop I-shape 8 feet
✓finishing tiles - porcelain
✓finishing edging - bevel ease
✓double layer + undermount sink installation

- big porcelain tile to reduce tile lining
- 4g glass door
- aluminium plate inside kitchen cabinet sink area

Don't forget to spec in a vent https://www.ikea.com/my/en/p/metod-ventilat...steel-30271033/ for the cabinet directly under the sink. That part always have damp/musty smell problem.

My dish drainer is part of the IKEA METOD kitchen system. This one, mounted on a wall cabinet, is only appropriate for a taller person. It is not stainless steel; instead, it is powdered-coated lacquered steel. Nonetheless, it is still simple to clean. Water drops from clean dishware will eventually evaporate in the drainer's removable bottom tray. The wall cabinet frame is a particleboard with melamine foil. So, far I see no issue with it since March 2023.

I installed the system by myself.

The final price paid in 2023. The IKEA METOD Bodarp theme kitchen view was 99.99% complete (notice the masking tape at the top right)

Anyone knows a thing or two about backsplash? Can we install 2x2 tiles for this purpose? Or will it be deemed as 'too heavy'?

If let say without requesting much, usually they will mix plywood and other ?

And I'm not sure is the picture clear. Does the photo underneath refer to block board ? Is there any durability issue if use block board as the "bones" and side us plywood ?

I went to the showroom of this plywood cabinet maker and the glue smell is so strong..eyes tearing and I have decided not to use plywood for my kitchen cabinet. I have been told by other cabinet makers that plywood has the highest VOC chemicals due to the glue that they use…so choose wisely..plus plywood is more expensive. The new material with zero chemical is NAF { no added Formaldehyde}
