err.... i bought Mr. Hobby Cement Deluxe (40ml) for RM8.90 from XL-shop. There's also Cement (23ml) which sells for cheaper price.
Not to mention of Cement Limonene RM12.90.

@boltguard : yeah, the pla-plates can be primed and so on. Don't BBQ them oh tongue.gif

cement basically same with cement deluxe, however the latter 1 have more ml than the 1st hence the name "deluxe".
about the limonene type, i nvr use it b4 so i dunno what's it for.

but i got this info of : Limonene is increasingly being used as a solvent for cleaning purposes, such as the removal of oil from machine parts, as it is produced from a renewable source (citrus oil, as a byproduct of orange juice manufacture.) Limonene works as paint stripper when applied to painted wood.

so err... anyone here use the Mr. Cement Limonene Type ar?

errr ..... Mr. Cement Limonene Type is actually same as tamiya extra thin cement ..... both normal cement which is Mr. Hobby Cement Deluxe and Mr. Cement Limonene Type have a diff applying ways ......

Mr. Hobby Cement and Deluxe is apply by applying both side of the parts then join together .... Mr. Cement Limonene Type is the otherway around, u join the parts 1st then apply Mr. Cement Limonene Type at the gap which is like letting the cement flow in .....

note ....Mr. Cement Limonene Type is NOT for cleaning purpose ....

bout the cleaning 1, the info is talking bout the normal limonene, not the mr.cement limonene.

tarak tarak.. jus snap-fit first (no cement).. then kasi sapu sikit the limonene/extra thin cement on the seam between the 2 piece, it will flow into the the tiny gap.. if u got loose gap (loose enuf for u 2 see through) then apply normal cement before u snap-fit.

Added on March 12, 2008, 11:06 amdifference between limonene and mr.deluxe cement is the viscosity.

limonene is very diluted.. like water
mr.deluxe is a bit thick.. coz it has more resin component.

mr.deluxe is usually applied like normal glue, spread on-top the 2 spots u want to joint together.
limonene on the other hand is suitable for capillary action application (u joint the 2 parts, apply limonene in between the narrow gap).
if u apply like normal mr.deluxe, it will dry before u stick the 2 piece together, so it won't work.

Lol zheyuen... you should go XL-shop's online shop ... www.xl-shop.com .... they sell both Mr. Cement and Mr. Cement Limonene type ... go see the labels/price etc as a reference... so u will know if the one u say at the bootleg shop is bootleg or not. =P

Personally i prefer Mr Cement deluxe to cover seam lines... the limonene type very thin... must put quite alot the only the seam line is covered... up to you though. Go try try. smile.gif

1st of all, is there surfacer 1500??? shocking.gif i've only seen 500,1000 and 1200 only...
if u mean water base means acrylic alr tat means paint mix with water..
for paint mix with thinner is mr.hobby lacquer type of paint...
brush does not produce nicer color, it depends on how skillful is the painter..
weathering can use gundam marker weathering or dry brushing technique.. there's still more technique though

u shud use 1000 which is the most suitable one...
u kenot mix lacquer and acrylic together as in none of them can overlap each other because some reason(which i duno how to explain)
lacquer or acrylic is the 1st layer of paint then flw by other types...
u can try enamel paint to do weathering effect... but 1st of all wat type of weathering u have in mind?

Erm, not sure , currently painting sd destiny , wont make weathering yet . Coz next wan assemble sd dendorium so wan make some weathering , make it look more real. I saw make it look rust is nice , also like scratch.

Currently i have mr hobby (6 basic) color and gundam marker (6 basic), and 2 bottles of hobby color (water base) brown and red metal coz the boss said can use for weathering @_@ . Might buy more color but not sure go with which type for next.

acrylic is the so-called aqueous/water-based paint of which its bottle using the flat cap (mr.hobby).
lacquer is the oil-based paint of which its bottle using the "tomahawk" shape cap (mr.hobby).
