guitars with basswood are all very neutral, so whatever the pickup sounds like is what you get.

That's why i'm planning on getting an Epi LP with Alnico 2 's in them for my Slash playing..
And i'll probably get some DiMarzios or SDs for the RG for my heavy metal playing..

Isn't the Kahler a good trem man? And i don't think i want to sell my RG because i play a lot of metal and starting to learn shred too. Don't think the LP would be too good for those.

Sorry to bring this thread back up. I was just browsing around and came across the LTD Alexi-600. Looks to be a really nice guitar. I asked around and can get it for RM5620. I was just wondering, would getting that and replacing the EMG HZ H4 with an EMG 81 be a good idea? Off my budget, but i'm willing to save up a little longer and get one if its going to be a good buy. Want it to last me long term. Also, i prefer it over the RR24, maybe because i'm and Alexi fanatic.

Also, i've seen it at Guitar Collection but its a lot more expensive there. Would they let me try it out? I want to see how it plays. Or do you think they won't trust me with it since its expensive and all?
