the LTD also doesnt come with a case right?
and alexi did use jacksons back then, which the RR24 basically looks like

But isn't the RR24 also around RM5.5k? Not much of a difference there. I'm not sure about the case though.

If you're an Alexi fanatic, why are you swapping the HZ to an 81? If you're using a small amp, really no difference in sound.

Oooooooh. Didn't know about the SD switch.... but a quick peek at Wikipedia resulted in this:
QUOTE Alexi has four ESP RV guitars with these specifications in common: All Neck-thru Alder Bodies, Maple necks with White Bindings, 25.5 scale, 24 fret Ebony fretboards, Original Floyd Rose Tremolo systems, single volume control pots and mini switches (each have one for the active electronics except the XXX guitar), Gotoh tuners, single EMG Humbuckers in bridge positions (which he has recently replaced with Seymour Duncan AHB-1 Blackouts), MM04 or Jackson JE-1000 active gainboost electronics. |

According to some ESP dealer, Alexi is still using EMG on live shows, but he already had some of his guitars customed with the SD Blackout prolly for studio or recording. Might probably he will switch to SD very soon.

ah another one whos gone for the blackouts.
i've been wanting to try them, just not available here. i also remember reading in some interview that alexi might put a EMG81 in a updated signature model. as all alexi fans know, the EMG-HZ of cos isnt his first choice. |

I'm a fan of his playing, not his tone. I prefer the sound of the EMG 81 for leads. And it would save me the trouble later on when i get my hands on a Randall RG50TC.Wow, i didn't know about the SD Blackout switch. And i do hope they upgrade his sig to an EMG 81. I guess i'll just wait and see what happens. Not as if i'm going to buy it any time soon anyway. Gotta save up a whole lot of cash. EDIT: How do the Blackouts compare to the EMG 81? Haven't heard much about it at all. And i checked with Bentley, the RR24 is RM5950 without a hardcase or anything else for that matter. So, not really much difference between the Alexi-600 and the RR24. This post has been edited by fatboythin: Jul 26 2007, 03:26 PM |

Haha, i give up man, i'll just use my RG whenever i need to use the neck pickup. How much would the Edwards come up to converted+shipping+tax and what not? I just tried an RR24 at Bentley just now, very nice. But seems a little to small to my liking. And also, they only order in the white with black bevels. I would have preferred a black with red/yellow bevels. Best price they could give was RM5.5k, excluding hardcase. The hardcase is RM350.

Its made FOR the US market dude, not made IN the US. That's why the bottom horn is longer than the Japanese Edwards and ESP models to avoid copyright infringement of Jackson's RR style guitars in the US.

US as in the US market, not made in the US. its made in korea iirc. the japanese models(arrowhead and sawtooth) have shorter lower horns, more towards the rr3 design whereas the us models have longer horns, kinda like king v's
