i prefer the shorter horn compare to the one like Alexi-600, and definately take RR24 over Alexi-600...come on plus its just LTD not ESP!

^Although its an LTD, it has awesome build quality man. I had a look at one (didn't get to play it) once, it was flawless in build and everything was top notch. The high end LTDs are really good guitars.

i really dont see how making the horn longer is gonna stop jackson from preventing that LTD from being released there.
if everyone can pursue ceast and desist orders against anyone who remote resembles their trademark, why cant jackson. imo, i think jackson just couldnt be bothered, cos they dont see the LTD as a threat. neither do i |

If i'm not mistaken, they did get sued by Jackson or something like that. Thats why they made the lower horns longer. So now its like the PRS vs. Gibson case a while back. If Jackson files a lawsuit now, they would most probably lose as the Alexi LTD is not 'exactly' a copy of the RR. The LTD's lower horn had to be changed as they wanted it in the US market, but in order to sell in the US market, they had to register the company under US manufacturers legal bullshit or something like that. That move makes them vulnerable to charges by other US companies (ie; Jackson) for copyright infringement.
Besides that, the Japanese ESP Customs and Edwards still have the RR body shape as the those companies are registered in Japan, where Jackson can't sue them since they're outside the States. Hope i made sense, its late. This post has been edited by fatboythin: Jul 27 2007, 01:38 AM |

i dont think they got sued.
instead they modified the shape cos they knew the chances of a lawsuit was there. this is different from the Gibson vs PRS, as anyone who doesnt even play guitar can tell its exactly the same even with the slightly extended horns. anyway, loosely quoted from the Gibson vs PRS case. QUOTE only "an idiot" would ever confuse a PRS Singlecut and a Gibson Les Paul. now the RR and LTD? no confusion there. |

Yea, some considerable difference between the lower horns. This post has been edited by fatboythin: Jul 27 2007, 02:39 PM |
