Regarding hardwire, car warranty is 5 years, how lah no dash cam for 5 years? Or does parking mode can still work if just plug into cigarette port? Rear will still need some hard wiring right? Or can pull long usb cable to front?
The other thing, once cigarette port use up, no more for hand phone charging....dilemma

Sorry might sound a silly question...for duo cam eg viofo a129 duo, do I need to buy 2 micro sd card, one for front one for rear? Or the one in the front record everything?

Sorry, one more question if i may. If i install the viofo a129 without the hardwire kit (the one with 3 wires to battery, ground etc), but using some fuse box clip (a local car accessories shop say can do it RM80), is that considered tampering with the wiring system and risk of voiding honda warranty? Or its just a clip, can remove it whenever go claim honda warranty?
If it is still considered tampering, then I think i might just use cigaretter adapter.....never thought such a simple thing as a dash cam can become an issue and actually so much info to read. I definitely learned a lot in this thread.

The shop guy did advice against parking mode, say will drain car battery if not using car 3-4 days. Is this true? I do tend to go outstation 1-2 at a time occasionally, will hardwire be an issue?

Just left 2 days my car using Viofo A120 Pro with parking mode + Viofo hardwire. My car battery drain to 0....can't start.

After reading so many reviews and looking up so many dash cams, I settled on Thinkware U1000 with an external battery.
I had initially decided on F770 but it was out of stock and I didn't want to come back later.  It would be sufficient for me since my car has a lot of 'assist' softwares already.

Now I am getting beeps from both the car and the dash cam, which is not too bad. The volume can be turned down.
But what is rather disappointing is the motion detection message tells me that someone is close to the car, but I can't see him/her since the camera is for front and rear only. So if some creep scratches my car doors or bangs the side while opening their door, there is no record. What is needed is a 4 channel unit. My reviews say 360 cameras do not give good images. So I have to wait.
But I am happy with the audio, it catches voices outside. The hotspot is difficult to connect, wifi is easier. I am glad for buying the external battery, no flat car battery worries.
