erm, i'm not too sure though. cos i will also need to connect the wiring all the way back to the front console box there, a kinda tedious work to do.

unless i bring it to the accessories shop and ask them to install. believe they can fuse it to the electric board or something, right?
*
Don't hassle getting it hardwired for this as you won't know how the accessories will do it.

If they cut wires then it's a big no and car warranty gone.

Better use the ciggie port to power the dashcams with a good quality USB charger.

Hey guys. Looking to get the 'best of the best' as a gift. I see from reviews that the Nextbase 522GW is the king of dashcams but it's not available in Malaysia.

What are some options I can consider?
*
You sure it is the king of dashcams? sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

Check if it is the full set with front and rear cam or just the front cam.

If it is local set by Sicurez, best to bring back to them to install.

Why such an expensive car don't even have dashcam from factory?
*
Factory dashcams sometimes are of lousy quality. Most are OEM from China manufacturers. Even those with Korean branding.

Even BMW dashcams' video quality is crap and more expensive than Thinkware or Blackvue.

it's SG set,  just saw ur previous replied, is sg set suitable use in MY ?
*
Update to the latest Singapore firmware before use as previous Singapore firmware will cause the F800 Pro to hang and restart constantly when used in Malaysia when the GPS gets connected.

Anyone can recommend a good seller-installer near klang valley? For premium looking and good dashcam, and won't see any wires.
*
Sicurez in Sunway. Selling Thinkware dashcams from Korea.

Can check out their installations on their facebook page

Yes, latest firmware. Anyway if you hear the F800 Pro keeps restarting itself after getting connected to GPS, just download again the latest Singapore firmware and flash the F800 Pro.

thanks , btw the procedure how to flash firmware is look like below ?

How to update your firmware

1. Download the latest firmware by clicking the link. You will see download progress at the bottom left of your browser.

2. Unzip the downloaded file into the root directory of your MicroSD

3. Copy the downloaded smartguidepoint.dx2 file into the ‘driveinfo’ folder. If ‘driveinfo’ folder doesn’t exist in the root directory of your MicroSD Card, please create one. [SD_ROOT]:/driveinfo/smartguidepoint.dx2

4. Download the latest speed / red light camera data in accordance to the geographic region http://www.thinkware.com/Support/Download....guidepoint.dx2)

5. Insert the MircoSD Card into the dash cam unit.

6. The device will start upgrading once the voice notification “The upgrade will now start” is played. 7. When complete, the dash cam will operate with the latest firmware. If the firmware upgrade takes longer than 5 minutes or the file fails to download correctly, delete all downloaded files and start again. If the problem persists, please call our hotline: 65553560.
*
Turn off the F800 Pro and take out the microSD card. Download the Singapore firmware and extract all to the root of the microSD card. It will asked if you want to replace the files with the same name, just click yes.

Then put back the microSD card and start the car. It will prompt that it will update the firmware. Just wait for the update complete notification.

If I tint my car’s back window with film with lesser that 50% (40%-50%) visible light transmission rate, is it still practical to put a rear camera (will the images still be clear)?
*
Very hard to say. Best to test it out. Also, some dashcam can adjust EV so it can be brighter or darker.

Any sifu can help me?

When I start my car, my thinkware f800 won't make noise anymore.

And I can't connect it with my phone.

But the record light is still on.

Anyone know what is the problem??

Nowadays even car dashcam start offer 4k recording already sweat.gif
*
Since last year started with true 4K dashcams. Now counting got 5 4K dashcams in the market. Or maybe more.

Thinkware U1000 - overall best features and functions
Viofo A129 Pro Duo - best video
Blackvue DR900S - so so
Vantrue X4 - haven't test
iRoad X10 - not sure yet

But do note got fake 4K dashcams. So you need to be careful of the specs.

I'm using Thinkware F800 pro which is full HD only, sometime at night low light still hard to capture moving car plate no. With 4k and smooth fps definitely helped a lot capturing all details. icon_idea.gif
*
Actually, no matter 4K, 2K, 1080p, 30fps or 60fps recording low light fast-moving also cannot see very clearly.
