QUOTE(msa9696 @ Feb 22 2023, 06:28 PM) Having a dilemma now, need to make quick decision. Fun fact - GNet makes dashcams for iRoad. You can see the same designs between the 2. Go to Sicurez and look see.My C200 arrived, and I know the warranty issue with 3rd party dashcam has been asked many times. Merc price for their dashcam is 3k for Gnet G-on2 https://www.g-on-the-road.com/gon2/ Really wondering, if this is way way overpriced, and if it's good enough. If this is valued at say, 2k, okla, save the trouble don't mind paying 1k extra to Merc. But really headache if should just buy this unknown dashcam for the "overpriced" 3k, or just install 3rd party like Thinkware. Any thoughts is very much appreciated |

If sold by Mercedes Benz Malaysia, they should be selling Mercedes original dashcam. Not from 3rd party brand dashcam. That is not RM1k extra G-on2 selling at RM1380 only Use that money get a dashcam battery Sure no way to say void warranty coz plug and play at cigarette socket only Unless Merc also like honda, give u 12V socket but when use void warranty" Anyway if really rm3k then better invest in a better Korean dashcam like what dino89 is mentioning. QUOTE(msa9696 @ Feb 26 2023, 09:41 PM) It's not sold by Merc, it's sold by Hap Seng, but I think everyone facing the same problem, we're at their mercy if we want hardwired parking recording. Only when we purchase from them, we can be assured of warranty claim and not accused of our own installation tampering with their wiring/ electronics. The external battery is powered via the 12v ciggie port and not thru the fuse.I've thought before of buying an external battery, but can't imagine the mess it creates having to carry the external battery for 4 years until Merc warranty expires. The installer has done this many times till you dont have to worry about the cables. It's simple actually. In my Honda is from car fuse/ciggie port to external battery. Battery to front dashcam. Front dashcam to rear dashcam. My external battery is underneath the driver seat. dogbert_chew liked this post

QUOTE(MystiqueLife @ Apr 15 2023, 03:15 PM) Guys, new to dashcam here. If I am using the cigarette socket for fast charging, how can I power the dashcam alternatively? I'm using a a 3 port QC charger. Also, what is the good brand with supercapacitor preferred and shop location for installation around PJ/Subang area? Try Sicurez in Sunway, they have all brands from Korea to China there. |

QUOTE(N9484640 @ Apr 17 2023, 10:57 AM) how many here using parking mode? How many using a battery pack for parking mode? I'm using battery pack with my U1000.is it necessary? my worries includes - cam will be running all the time (parking and normal modes combined. Worry about the heat will cause premature failure If you want to use parking mode and scared your car battery drain then yes. I've been using my U1000 since September 2019 until today and no premature failure due to normal and parking mode usage. If use car battery most can record 24 hours until the voltage cutoff or timer whichever comes 1st. With battery pack, will last 24 hours only. Unless I want to record more then I can daisy chain a few battery packs together. This post has been edited by blurjoey: Apr 17 2023, 05:59 PM N9484640 liked this post

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jun 5 2023, 11:20 AM) Hi, 32 GB can store data for how many days? Do we need to buy separate memory card for front and rear? 32GB can store about 3-4 hours of 1080p video. Dual dashcam that is about 1-2 hours for front and rear. Some sellers have this hardware kit. What is it and is it necessary to have it? First time user. https://www.lazada.com.my/products/70mai-da...8454019776.html? Thank you A dashcam can only use 1 microSD card for both front and rear. If you want to keep longer then a bigger capacity card is needed. For front and rear, 64GB is about 4+- hours and 128GB is about 8+- hours. I think a 64GB is more than enough as you won't be going through the videos until you get into an accident or something happened during your drive.. Hardwire kit is to use parking mode when you off the car engine. If you just want to record when driving only then no need. Only require when you want to use parking mode. |

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jun 5 2023, 02:26 PM) Thank you for the clarification. All dashcam now will automaically overwrite old files first when full. Will the video be 're-written' automatially (dont know the correct term) on the SD card or we have to erase the video manually before new video can be recorded? Thanks again. Human Nature liked this post

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jun 6 2023, 06:46 PM) For A500s, can I just install the front unit without the rear unit first? Why you want to install front alone when you bought a dual dashcam? And to download (save video), have to manually take out the SD card or downloadable from apps? Thank you You can download the videos via 70mai app or unplug the microSD and use on phone or PC with a card reader. |

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jun 7 2023, 12:35 PM) I am not sure if I want to run the wire along the car roof lining yet.Roof lining is beige, so appearance wise is kinda ugly if didnt hide it properly. The gap is quite tight. Anyone runs it along the floor instead? At least can hide below the car mat. Open the door lining and go thru there. It's easy to open and put back. I've done it many times. If not sure, can always pay someone to install it. Cause you buy a dual dashcam and just use the front cam only as it is a waste. Can just buy a front cam dashcam and use. QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jun 10 2023, 03:29 PM) 1. Phone app is unable to detect A500s bluetooth. It says to turn on the A500s hotspot and then it got connected. I am confuse here, Actually no bluetooth connectivity? How can A500s becomes a hotspot or wifi when it is not under any telco data? Means whenever I connect the phone to the app, I cannot use mobile data for other things. 1. Hotspot is when your phone connects to the A500S' wifi and your phone dont have internet when connected to the A500S. That's the ways it works. Mostly used to set settings/stream/download when needed. Also no bluetooth as it is not mention got bluetooth on A500S. 2. Everytime to view the photo and video on the app, I have to turn on the A500s unit ie. turn on car engine. Means cannot view it remotely? 3. Just fixed the front unit. Have some bubbles when sticking the electrostatic film 4. Tomorrow will fix the rear unit. Is it okay to paste it on the defroster grid lines. No way to avoid them. Thank you 2. You want to view the dashcam when the engine is off? Then it is not this dashcam. Only Thinkware and Blackvue dashcam can as those dashcam has 4G/LTE module options. 3. Give the bubbles a few days and hopefully will disappear. You didn't use a squeegee when sticking? Car USB port might not have enough power supply to power the dashcam. 4. Better stick inbetween the lines. This post has been edited by blurjoey: Jun 10 2023, 10:40 PM |
