for z50 (gps, RM699) vs a129 duo (gps rm580),

which would be a better choice?

If you more control in the settings then Viofo which allows you to control even the bitrate of the videos.

DDPAI is more basic controls.

not looking to tweak anything, just run the best setting on the cameras. how about reliability? should be viofo?
*
Newer models for Viofo is much better than the previous models.

DDPAI is a mixed bag as some have issues and some is fine.

thanks, wil go study FineVu . btw how bout Viofo A129 PLUS/PRO?

in term of price and performance? my main feature need is motion sensor for parking mode.

thanks
*
If motion parking mode is your main requirements, I would really suggest going with Thinkware or FineVu.

If for video quality, then Viofo as can control bitrate of the video. A129 Plus is a bit better than A129 Pro but 2K and not 4K.

Hi Sifus,

Would like to ask for recommendation.

Bought this used car that has dashcam wiring done. The rear cam is an iroad v9. Front is missing but has a power cable and a microusb which I presume to connect to rear cam.

What other dashcam models can I get to make this work? Or can I only stick back with iroad v9?

Cheers.

The iRoad power cable is same as Thinkware and FineVu.

Rear cam and cable only iRoad.

But if you buy new set, it comes with the cable and rear cam d.

Better just buy a new set of dashcam and take out the old cables and rear cam.

was hoping to reuse the cables and rear cam if possible without spending much.

If buying a new set means I would have to redo the internal cabling as well yeah?

possible to mix and match like thinkware/finevu front and iroad rear?
*
Can you use Honda/BMW engine in a Toyota/Proton without mod? laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Also iRoad don't sell front cam only if not wrong. Have to see which model the rear cam belongs to as some using different model rear cam to different iRoad dashcam.

Looks like the A139 Pro kuat makan letrik and gives out quite a bit of heat. Which means parking mode using car battery is not recommended. I intend to buy a separate power pack and it seems even that is not enough.  sad.gif
*
The heat from recording 4K is true but the power usage during parking mode is not really as it depends on which parking mode you're using.

Viofo HK4 is improve the voltage cutoff is good and won't drain the car battery.

An external battery can last up to 20+ hours. You can daisy-chain a few batteries to run longer than 20+ hours. Only thing is are you willing to pay a few external batteries or not.

yeah, no front cam only. and the iroad v9 is already discontinued.

My best bet is to find another iroad v9 set and plug and play.

wondering if can get the more recent x5 to match with the v9 rear.
*
Good luck as the V9 is launched before 2016. The rear cams might not work as it is more than 6 years old d. So many new sensors and chipset in that period.

Anyway, since iRoad is only selling dual cams, why don't just change the whole set?

Can use to power dashcam but not recommended as will exploded. Go google those videos of powerbanks left in the car.

QUOTE(Batusai @ Nov 8 2022, 12:56 PM)
yup. its a risky move if trying to get an old cam.

Will be hunting for new cams. looking at the iroad x5, as the cabling is similar to the v9.

be checking reviews, most people say iroad not so good quality anymore compared to thinkware ?
*
Research more 1st lo. Hehehe...

Are both these models video quality recording the same? As i see both are 1080p
*
Go read my reviews on both and watch the videos and decide

www.jwtechreviews.com

Not only 1080p but also the sensor used, etc.

Tint first then stick on dashcam. You cannot tint after you have stuck on the dashcam on the windscreen ya.

You want to know which dashcam or tint is better?
