Can ar. Your unit should be same batch as mine. The gps timezone will reset back to gmt+0 timezone once fully shutdown for 1 mins. I got 2 units behave same phenomena. It happen once the gps signal successfully connected and it will reset timezone back to gmt+0.

Was testing indoor when it happened.
*
QUOTE(KIntos @ Oct 11 2022, 08:20 PM)
Ok done tested. Found the issue, only happened when no memory card is inserted under switching camera on and off. It will reset back to gmt+0 once gps signal connected.

After upon inserted memory card, the timezone will remained as per user setting after numerous of switching on and off.
*
I want to reply I didn't have such issue with my A229 but you already solved it sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

Hmm comparing A229 with those famous ddpai Z series and 70Mai A800 similar price...

worth spending the extra for a229?

which one you recommend ya?
*
I feel the A229 is more improved over the previous A119 and A129 series.

If you got read in those dashcam groups of the issues from ddpai and 70mai then you'll know.

But no dashcam is prefect.

Is ddpai z40 non-gps can display own vehicle speed ?
*
You'll need the GPS to detect your vehicle speed in order to display your own vehicle speed.

Want to ask Sifu here if anyone mount their dashcam beside the MyVI ASA camera time, the position the camera to point directly in front or will angle the camera a bit to point at center of car hood?

Just finished setup the A119 Mini but not sure if I should point straight or point center of car hood so would like to hear some opinions...

I prefer to mount the dashcam's lens at the dead center of the windscreen.

You can only mount the dashcam pointing straight as the lens can only adjust up and down. But you can mount to the left or right side pointing straight if there is something at the center as long can see both sides can d.

Hm, I installed beside the ASA on driver's side but a bit tilted to point the camera towards the center of the front hood. sweat.gif
Maybe will try to move to center, right below the ASA if the video looks awkward...
Does the GPS module works if I plug the Type-C onto the camera body instead of the GPS module? hmm.gif
*
It works either with the body type c or the mount type c

Just had a drive during evening and night so trying to review the video quality but kind of confused with the huge difference of quality during night.

Evening drive, overall quality seems good. Able to see the opposing lane car's plate, but not sure why there's a purple hue on the top area. Looks like wave pattern.
Possible issue with the CPL or the tint? confused.gif
user posted image

Night drive, somehow everything turned grainy regardless of bright or dark area, but somehow it still able to capture the motor's plate... doh.gif
user posted image

Maybe will try remove the CPL next time to see if there's any major difference, also I also moved the dashcam to right below the ASA as the video captured is slanted so sometimes feels the right side is higher and left side is lower in video.
Read from other forum saying the current FW is having some bug where Auto HDR not activating according to the time selected so not sure if this also contribute to the grainy video.
*
That's the CPL filter and the tint. You have both and you'll see rainbow on the windcreen.

It's the same as when you're wear polarized sunglasses.

With CPL, night video will be a bit darker.

then surely x2pro. real 4k compare to a800s front + rear.
*
X2 Pro/X2S Pro is 1440p front cam while the rear cam is 720p for X2 Pro and 1080p for X2S Pro.

A800S is 4K front and 1080p rear.

Then we all know which is using capacitor and lithium ion.

Any dashcam with parking mode will drain youe battery, unless you got external battery pack for it.
*
Get Korean dashcam la. At least the battery protection cut off is working properly at the set voltage. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

External pack also good but not all is willing to pay for it thought.

If not wrong, I think DDPAI got it's own external battery pack. Saw in some HK site.

tbh i hate ddpai too after using it. what if i unplug it before i turn off my car and only put it on recording mode when i am on the road? will it help with the battery? unsure.gif
*
Can look at Viofo A229 2K front and rear (Shit haven't out my review). At the moment I see it is still good.

Others good FineVu 2K GX300 or the 1080p GX30.

Higher will be Thinkware or Blackvue

If you're nearby Sunway, can go to Sicurez and see all from 70mai to DDPAI to Viofo to FineVu to Thinkware to Blackvue laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
