Maybe this video will give u inspiration on DIY installation. But if your vehicle's headliner is glued on to the roof, and the A-pillar covers do not allow for cable concealment, then u gotta go the adhesive cable clips route.

Pull open the rubber lining then pull the A-pillar cover open. It's hold on by clips like my wife's Axia
A-pillar is the easiest. Lucky not installing dual dashcam, the rear trunks like on Axia I more afraid
Can follow this video for Honda Jazz but install on the left side as the video is left-hand drive. This what I follow for my 1st dashcam long time ago.

Can skip the glove compartment removal part by running the wires below/behind the compartment (the part where it's not visible) and secure with stick-on clips. The wire can then re-emerge to reach the ciggy port near the gear shaft. Works for my Honda City
For those interested in Viofo A129 Pro Duo. Compare with 70mai Dash Cam Pro and BlackVue DR900S-2CH.
Is the video burn-in label for the cams (A129 vs 70mai Pro) in the video correct? The narration said A129 is definitely sharper but the video labelled as A129 appeared to be more blur than the 70mai Pro.

Currently doing some survey on some dashcams, my budget likely < RM350. Just want to install it on my ride [likely simple DIY on Myvi G3].
Came across some reviews of the 70Mai Pro and came to visit this thread as well to gather some info. Seems for budget, the recommendations are for Viofo and BlueskySea series.
Viofo looks quite big whilst the 70 Mai looks quite discreet. Any other recommendations?

Thanks guys.
Am not a dashcam sifu; TS is the sifu around here
Been 10 days since I installed the Mini 0906 dual dashcam and so far it works fine. Long-term reliability is yet unproven. It's about RM78 more than yr budget and came with a 64GB Samsung Evo Plus micro sd.
It's nothing fancy, was easy to install and configure, and it does the job well enough for my needs. GPS lock is fast, and Aug 28th's firmware is stable. The images will not be able to compete with the lovely detail in Mai 70 Pro's 2160p files, or with the Viofo A129 Duo's lower aperture lens, but it's acceptable for the price I paid. And the best part is I don't need to worry about malfunctioning batteries in the Malaysian heat any more.

Ahh cool. Thanks for the suggestion.
Seems I managed to find that particular listing of Shopee, and supposedly your review on the product. Haha.
Is it an easy and straightforward DIY fit?
Ah yes, the capacitor vs lithium comments that was shared in the 1st post of this thread.

If you put both A119 and 70mai Pro together, it's about the same size. A119 is longer while 70mai Pro is wider. Both are wedge design.
70mai Pro is an ok dashcam and newer specs. Just that it is using a lithium battery inside. 70mai have impacted then record parking mode and can run off from the built-in litium battery. Need to get the GPS mount separately.
A119v2 is about 2 years old if not mistaken but it's one of the best capacitor dashcam around. Now replaced by the A119v3 this year.

Aaah... to me it was quite easy to fit. Front camera took less than 10min for wiring and adjustment/checking of camera angle. Rear camera took a bit longer but was straightforward too cos I simply followed the rear speakers and subwoofer's wiring. Wiped down the spots (painted metal with diluted alcohol, rubber and vinyl with detergent) I wanted to use adhesive cable clips at, as well as the place where the rear cam would be stuck to, and I was totally done inside 30 minutes.
nb: I had temporarily attached the rear cam first with double sided tape and blasted some crappy dubstep to ensure that spot would not be much affected by vibrations from the subwoofer/rear speakers. After reviewing the rear cam vid and finding it to be stable, then only I peeled the "real" adhesive backing and stuck it on.

Blueskysea afaik is much cheaper than Viofo. I'm using the B1W at rear windscreen. Would love to have Viofo (either 2 x single channel, or one dual-channel) but it's much more expensive than my present Yi cam + B1W combo.
