The CPU prices for i5-9400F and Ryzen 5 2600 dropped quite fast recently. Now i5-9400F just RM 660 and Ryzen 5 2600 is RM 640, the gap of these 2 CPU is closing up...

you could get the ryzen 2600, and get div2 code, and sell the code for 100? or 80? you could potentially buy the 2600 for 540.

The free game promotion (Div2) seems closed already, but I believe AMD would launch new promotion soon. Right now Intel i5-9400F should be the right option for those don't OC.

the power efficiency for this CPU is just damn nice.

My old system:
C2Q Q9550 + GTX 670, idle around 120 watts, youtubing around 160 watts, high load around 300 watts

New system:
i5-9400F + GTX 1660, idle around 40 watts, youtubing around 50 watts, high load around 180 watts

That's more than 50% reduction electricity bill on average usage

Noctua NT-H1 I believe. Pretty good all rounder thermal compound. Not sure about the price but it's affordable.

I just realized that there are few pc shops around bandar puteri.😁

Might check with them if they have. Doesnt matter if few ringgit more but can save on toll, petrol, parking and more importantly, time.

If you seek in online, there are few seller sell this product. Novopus, Dotatech, E tech etc etc.
But Novopus 1700 1700X most cheap. All below 700. The 1500X from Novopus also very good price (RM3XX) but all sold out on Lazada birthday sale period.

Latest news from Ryzen APU 3200G confirm is solder CPU. Not same as 2200G which is thermal paste type.

If you want to play games, just go with Ryzen 1700 below RM700.
Very good value when paired with B450 motherboard, with upgrade option to Ryzen 3000 series next time, such as 3700x. You probably wont need to upgrade for the next 3 years, depending on what you need to do. Remember to get a good CPU cooler if you plan to overclock, nothing too crazy coz B450 is not a great board to OC with.

For 9400F, you COULD upgrade to 9900k but the prices wont be below RM1000 for the next 3 years, in my opinion.

Thanks for the info. I am asking my friend to consider for his first gaming PC... rather than keep buying laptops. I am running 8600k now and I think it is enough for my use.
