I am using 2600 with vega 56, works in every game without an issue like CSGO, apex, pubg. FPS consistently above 100, and I have a freesync monitor too.
Your 2600 should last you awhile, upgrading to 9400f you wont even see much improvement, which isnt really worth it for the hassle. I managed to overclock my 2600 to 4.1 and I see a boost in a lot of things.

QUOTE(aliesterfiend @ Mar 20 2019, 10:48 PM) I posted it 2 days before I went to buy ryzen 2600. 😁 2600 is a good choice! QUOTE(aliesterfiend @ Mar 20 2019, 10:50 PM) You dont need vega 56 for games you're playing. Swap with my rx 580 as it's barely enough for Total War. 😁 i still play black desert online lol i tried 580 it didnt work as well. i actually bought the vega before the 2600

QUOTE(WA300 @ Apr 12 2019, 05:19 PM) The CPU prices for i5-9400F and Ryzen 5 2600 dropped quite fast recently. Now i5-9400F just RM 660 and Ryzen 5 2600 is RM 640, the gap of these 2 CPU is closing up... you could get the ryzen 2600, and get div2 code, and sell the code for 100? or 80? you could potentially buy the 2600 for 540.

QUOTE(WA300 @ Apr 12 2019, 06:27 PM) The free game promotion (Div2) seems closed already, but I believe AMD would launch new promotion soon. Right now Intel i5-9400F should be the right option for those don't OC. it's still a good price lol. probably borderlands code soon
