So I'm invested into a 36% index portfolio and today I discovered we could see the actual allocations by going into Assets -> Current weightage.

However, I see that 23% of my portfolio is being held as cash. Its a shame because I really do want everything to be invested into equities so I don't miss out on the rebound.

My question is, is this something that SA is specially doing (hold more cash) due to the current downturn? Or has it always been like this?

Check your transactions, these few weeks they are rebalancing portfolios because of hugh allocation % errors resulted from asset prices fluctuating.

So they sell the overperforming assets and buy the underperforming ones. Monday sell, Tuesday buy, between that they hold in cash for now.

Later in the evening you should see a buy order in your transactions.

You didn't kena rebalance like we did then, the error is not great enough.

Can't sell overperforming assets if they are all underperforming lol.

thanks for pointing that out! i actually did top up my account 2 days ago and thought that was the cause. however, i checked my transactions and they did initiate a buy order on my deposit date but used only 10% of the amount i topped up. I checked my previous buy orders, they tend to use every cent that i topped up on the same day.

So that sort of leads me to believe that they system is purposely holding more cash in this trying times?

Hi Guys, this is out of topic. I just need some help to point me the the correct channel for my questions.

I have done an investment transaction via the EPF Members Investment Scheme (MIS) on the 24 Mac 2020. But until today it has not reflected on the purchase of the unit trust i have selected, so i want to know how long does it take to buy the unit trust upon my submission.

I hope someone can point me to the correct forum or have experience before regards to this.

if you join before the ''crash'', high chance you will in the red now. me included

if you join in now, high chances are you will see the green much faster than me
this is assuming that the ''crash'' are over

if you join now, assuming the ''crash'' continue, high chances the red you see is lower than me

we cant see the future, only prediction based on available information.
