weh no la......... it's some rainy stormy days, it will be bright again some day in the future, surely.

Coincidentally when most of us here joined stashaway were during the peak days and now gone into the trough, thats why all recorded negative returns now.

but for those who just set up and join now, should be able to see very good profits when the sunshine day returns....

Do you even notice the trend is the same for the past 2 to 3 weeks?
Should I quit? Should I DCA more? Now got time to go in? When will go up back? When is the bottom?

million dollar question ma......... i know.....

that's also a purpose of a forum, isn't it?

you could choose to ignore them lo...

The robo-advisor should take care of those questions and let you invest in peace.
But apparently it's chaos now. None of the asset classes are spared except cash.
So in order to have a good sleep at night, just cash out and uninstall the app.

So I'm invested into a 36% index portfolio and today I discovered we could see the actual allocations by going into Assets -> Current weightage.

However, I see that 23% of my portfolio is being held as cash. Its a shame because I really do want everything to be invested into equities so I don't miss out on the rebound.

My question is, is this something that SA is specially doing (hold more cash) due to the current downturn? Or has it always been like this?

Did you perform any top up yesterday or two days ago?

Check your transactions, these few weeks they are rebalancing portfolios because of hugh allocation % errors resulted from asset prices fluctuating.

So they sell the overperforming assets and buy the underperforming ones. Monday sell, Tuesday buy, between that they hold in cash for now.

Later in the evening you should see a buy order in your transactions.

My cash weightage in USD is only 0.99%

Can't sell overperforming assets if they are all underperforming lol.
*
Maybe they're selling because the valuation has exceeded the max weightage for that particular asset (ETF).

thanks for pointing that out! i actually did top up my account 2 days ago and thought that was the cause. however, i checked my transactions and they did initiate a buy order on my deposit date but used only 10% of the amount i topped up. I checked my previous buy orders, they tend to use every cent that i topped up on the same day.

So that sort of leads me to believe that they system is purposely holding more cash in this trying times?
*
Sometimes one buy order placed cannot be fulfilled in a day.
I experienced before.

Hi Guys, this is out of topic. I just need some help to point me the the correct channel for my questions.

I have done an investment transaction via the EPF Members Investment Scheme (MIS) on the 24 Mac 2020. But until today it has not reflected on the purchase of the unit trust i have selected, so i want to know how long does it take to buy the unit trust upon my submission.

I hope someone can point me to the correct forum or have experience before regards to this.

TIA.

Please ask in EPF thread.
This is SA thread and not even qualified for EPF-MIS.

speaking from 36% which highly consist of etf with no bonds
if you join before the ''crash'', high chance you will in the red now. me included

if you join in now, high chances are you will see the green much faster than me
this is assuming that the ''crash'' are over

if you join now, assuming the ''crash'' continue, high chances the red you see is lower than me

we cant see the future, only prediction based on available information.
invest with the money you afford to lose

At 36%, there's 1 ETF which has down for close to 50%.
Luckily the weightage is only 2.78%
