Not really, DIY index fund seems is a bit troublesome for me, or maybe I'm just lazy to explore. I like SA for its diversification & i can just put any amount I want whenever I want.
*
Haha ya. Initial effort is needed

QUOTE(honsiong @ Oct 25 2019, 04:14 PM)
Potentially lower returns too, the fees saving is not worth it.

I do have DIY portfolio for fun lah, but EPF + PRS + Stashaway still primary.
*
Currently epf, sa and some klse for fun

For prs, my tax deduction is 90 or 240 range so didn't really look into it.
If you don't mind, can u share your recommended prs? Tqvm biggrin.gif

Last 2 week the trend is bullish.... Should we stop dca during bullish trend?
*
Depend on yourself

Some might think, so bullish... Conlan7firm bear incoming so they stop Dca.

And some might think, so bullish... Pump more in

Above these 2 type carry the traits of gamblers. Why say gamblers? Coz they just based on feeling, sixth sense.
Unless they did research on the individual stocks to determine if its over priced or a good price to buy more.

If long term investment, just Dca consistently no matter bull, bear or kangaroo.

Depends on what you want. If you are ok with buying regardless of price, then DCA. If you want to get more value for money, then reduce or stop DCA, save it up, when market is down pump more in

Both way works.
Actually is not gambler traits. I my self practice that. When things are expensive, I don't buy anything. When things are cheaper, I buy. Is basic grocery shopping 101. I don't believed in overpaying for stuff.

**NOT A FAN OF DCA**
*
If you got research the price then it will surely perform better than those that dca or else Dca is the way to go

I myself just constantly deposit the similar amount unless it get cheap. Then will increase the deposit amount

Yea exactly, looks like not many has experienced any crashes, but don't worry, Stashaway claims to be able to mitigate this risk with their 'proprietary algorithm'. sarcastic btw.

Look at this backtest, not even god pull this off. If stashaway can do this again on the next recession no one will put their money anywhere else but here.

user posted image

As you can see, whilst other portfolios have crashed during the 08 crisis, stashaway's backtest results barely lost anything. Is anyone else doubting this or is it just me?
*
I think this is for their 6.5 to 22% risk right?
The growth one I think will closely resemble the sp500

I don't think he is being sarcastic at all. He is giving u the accurate answer

QUOTE(whycanot323 @ Nov 6 2019, 10:54 AM)
and this is good, as im still new 2 months in SA. these info is great!
to let me know the history.
*
As mentioned by honsiong, we are in a bull market since Dec 2018. So positive return is very much expected. But this is stock market after all, there will be up and down.
Are u able to stomach the losses in case the market goes the opposite way? If yes then nice but if can't then better stick with more conservative investment.

Wrong. That’s reoptimization.

Rebalancing simply means getting ur portfolio allocations close to target whenever you deposit, withdraw, or do nothing for long time but the error has gotten out of hand.

Ah I see
Coz I based on the context from the previous reply
Thanks for correcting

Well yeah...example B is low, just imagine RM100,000,000 and putting it on 25 red on roulette. That's 3,500,000,000.

But jokes aside... yeah I suppose that's pretty good returns for now. Still new to stashaway and wasn't sure what to expect.

Based on ur statement
I can confirm this robo is not for u haha

I think it's best to just deposit and leave it as it is.
It's passive investment afterall
No need to track it smile.gif

The return improve is becoz of a huge gain in yesterday's us market and myr weakened against usd

I  had 2 accounts with 20% and 30% risks. Seems both equally good returns. About 6%. Previously i tried one with 8%, return was 2%. Is it due to currency guys?
*
It's been bullish for the past few years or at least since 2018 dec after the minor correction.
So its normal that the higher risk profile that hold more equities will perform better. But if bull market come, we need to prepare for the worse. (To prepare: at least 1) Have cash for emergencies (months of expenses) and 2) Have cash(bullet) on hand to buy cheap stock)

Bond on the other hand wont have much changes in bull and bear (during bear will grow a bit (?). Do correct me if i'm wrong). So more suitable for investor with lower risk appetite.

Since we are on the topic of bonds. Is it wiser to go for bond fund/asnb/fd here instead of the lower risk SA profile? Since there will be 30% withholding tax on the dividend anyway.

You mean SA is deduct 30% tax on dividend on withdrawal?
*
Not on withdrawal but the withholding tax will be imposed on payment. Meaning the dividend u see in the transaction tab is already post tax.

Also from ur previous question, yes. The total return include dividends (which are then automatically reinvested)
