5.4 million EPF members opt for lower monthly cutPETALING JAYA: More than five million Employees Provident Fund (EPF) members have opted to reduce their monthly contribution to 9% from January. The government decided to allow members to reduce the 11% statutory monthly contribution to 9% in order to boost their disposable income during the Covid-19 pandemic. An EPF spokesman said they received 2.09 million applications from members who were keen to maintain the full rate. “The applications were made through their employers via Borang KWSP 17A (Khas 2021) forms. “Based on the requests, there was a total of 5.4 million applications who opted out of contributing the full 11%, ” said the spokesman. EPF currently has 7.49 million active members. The reduced rate is in effect for wages from January to December of 2021. https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2021...wer-monthly-cut

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Jan 14 2021, 08:54 AM) Contribution amount reflected under Withdraw Eligibility! Sorry, I am just starting to learn and plan on self-contribute. Does this "Withdraw Eligibility" mean that I can withdraw the contributed money anytime I want (like FD withdraw)? Or it will be stuck until the an age specified by EPF (55 or more in future)? Maybe I misunderstood the term. This post has been edited by Vickyle: Mar 17 2021, 10:40 AM

Does this "Withdraw Eligibility" mean that I can withdraw the contributed money anytime I want (like FD withdraw)? Want to withdraw from FD to place in EPF since the dividend is higher. Epf is not your FD. Many conditions need to be met before withdrawal is allowed.

Forum-ers report that their contributed amount is reflected under "Withdrawal Eligibility". What is the structure/form of display? A special category separated from other categories? I have been self contributing every year and it never take more than 3 days to reflect on my i-account. See below my most recent contribution on 2 March and it has been reflected and not next month.

Even if you are a salaried worker you still can do self contribution up to RM60k per year. Only you are not eligible for i-saraan RM250 gov incentive.

Those considering self contribution, next Monday 29 Mar would be the best date to bank in. Your money would be reflected on 31 March and start enjoying the dividend from 1 April onwards.
