You had already saved 60k for this year, ... spend some to satisfied your achievement for having saved 60k. Whatever balance save again into kwsp when they "approved" that extra 40k. Your ps5 and iPhone would not cost 20k.

Your interest in ps5 and the joy & satisfaction of having played with it....priceless.... as you may not have that kind of joy playing with it later in life.

from what I understand, certain things are "cast" in stone into the EPF act, and any changes to those "stones" require Parliamentary approval.

So whatever proposed in the budget 2023 will need to pass parliament first.

This is the same reason why last year's 2023 contained the 100K limit but all talk for fun only after PM9 dissolved the parliament.

remember to start spending your retirement funds if you already planned long ago and executed your retirement plans properly....

for once, I personally don't care about the 60K rm or 100K rm limit beyond the fact that this allows me to park a bit more of my spare cash in EPF to earn higher "FD-like" rates.

It is time for me to start drawing down my EPF dividends to spend already....

If there was gonna be an increase from 60k to 100k, wouldn't it have to be in the Proposed Budget first? Parliament is only gonna approve what Anwar has proposed in his paper yesterday. How would they be able to insert an additional proposal at the parliament sitting or announce it in fb without it being in the Proposed Budget?

I can't see anything about the 100k in the Touchpoints or in the Star paper either (unless I missed reading it).

So I don't see anything "wrong", and just take it that there isn't gonna be any increase this year.

Unless he proposed an amendment during the bajet debat then they can change and amend during then but for now what is proposed is already set in stone

To make those changes EPF Act have to be amended hence more headache now because the time is tight for PMX doing things with 3 months to spare 🤦‍♀️

Saturday passing the time only. I perused the act, actually fast glancing thru only. Nowhere is it mentioned about voluntary contributions and the likes. Maybe i am mistaken. Its statutory contributions that when changed needs amendments. But with the so called covid contributions reduction, i dont recalled such amendments. Again i am not a lawyer...so

There is under contribution whereby anything above statuary rate of rm1 is covered under the Act which is self contribution and those who opted above statuary rate 🤦‍♀️

Covid special withdrawals come under Emergency Act hence PM8 abuses power when doing that by using MCO

That is why Anwar is not doing any changes because he knows any structural changes has to go through amendment of an Act which is he trying to reduce it unless it is necessary like the govt procurement Act amendment which is upcoming soon
