Not to mention some device with single stream (which are many device are biggrin.gif ) Even some device only support support 2.4ghz only, for example my Huawei Nova 3i (low to medium price device, release in mid 2018, single stream wifi), no way to benefit 500mbps internet speed.

p/s: my previous post was mean to be joke  biggrin.gif

The best thing to do to get the speed we want is still wired cable directly to the router.

two mth ago i sign up 60gb plan..i got dlink ac1200 842... my bro also get the same router when he sign by 129 plan....

Yes, that is okay to use, but still basic. As long as you are happy with it and it is good enough, no point changing to a better one.

Did you test with another RJ45 cable or another router?

Sounds like the connection issue instead of the router issue.

Just recently installed 100mbps@rm129.
I only got tplink router + huawei modem.

In email written 3 stuff.

1. High Speed Internet - Residential - lite 100Mbps - router+modem
2. unifi playTV Lite - can watch only using apps (known)
3. Residential Voice - technician said TM only provided phone number, but i need to buy my own phone if want to use the free call.

Is this true for all new subscribers, or am I getting conned? sad.gif
*
It is true for all subscribers. You didn’t know what you are signing up for? Refer here: https://unifi.com.my/personal/home/fibre-broadband

Looks like I misunderstood the ads.

IMO that bold sentence in 100mbps plan are misleading.
Why mention 600minutes talktime, if you don't want to give free phone.
Should have put asterisk there. sad.gif
*
Get your own. You can get a basic model for quite cheap.

Does anyone know why the connection keeps dropping every 5-10mins?
I didn't notice this during browsing or streaming video because the videos already buffered but whenever I play online games (battlefield v) I notice that the connection keeps dropping every 5-10mins. can't even finish a single round now.
*
What router are you using? Could be related to that.

i'm using the ethernet. every time it happened my wifi down too (checks my phone every time it happens)
*
Probably. It is time to change it.

QUOTE(MGM @ May 19 2019, 01:40 PM)
Previously when I was using the stock c1200 router, my unifitv was running smoothly via homeplug. When this c1200 rosak I replaced it with Archer A6 and Unifitv is no longer smooth, at times need to reboot the STB. What should I look at for rectification? Ipv6 is disabled n Natboost is enabled.
*
Home plug is an unreliable method for UnifiTV. Did you try with a different router?

Like I said, previously I was using c1200 n aztech hl117et homeplug av mini 500mbps n it ran smoothly. Now atter I changed my router to Archer A6 with everything else unchanged my unifitv stalls intermittently. Don't have another router to try since the c1200 is dead.
BTW unifitv is on LAN1 or LAN4 of the A6?
*
Not too sure, but should be LAN1.

Could it be this problem, where the IGMP Version should be set to V3, instead of the default V2?
*
Try that. You usually have to implement IGMP snooping for IPTV.

Is Asus RT-AC86U still good to buy ? So many negative comments especially overheating. I kinda phobia with Asus brand, had bad experiences with their product before and went through RMA few times.
*
Yes, but if you are not confident with them, you can try to get the TP-Link AC2300 or AC3150.

The rebooted router is this ac1200

Previously I was using this another ac1200 (before terminated), but this was never rebooted randomly.

Refer to 1st page, 1st post, green text. That router is well known for having issues.

Congrats. You should update the firmware of your Asus router though. There are lots of new security patches and some features too, so consider that.

Wrong mode selected. You should really Google for it, before asking, as there are written guides and a video by Asus Malaysia. Anyway, here you go: https://www.blacktubi.com/unifi/setup-asus-router-for-unifi/

Yes, but if you are worried, try Merlin. You are already using Merlin anyway, right?

QUOTE(igx0908 @ Jun 2 2019, 02:15 PM)
For 100Mbps plan without the TV Box, can I purchase a second-hand TM TV Box to be used?
*
Yes, but you will need to bind MAC address of the box to TM system, and only TM technicians can do that.

QUOTE(westlife @ Jun 2 2019, 02:43 PM)
Is there any mesh routers come with native support of unifi? meaning can readily input the username and password for unifi and use it straight away without any additional special setup?

For instance, does Linksys velop support this?
*
TP-Link Deco and Asus Lyra can do it. Linksys Velop probably not, but it could be done manually.

If you are not using it for anything, then just disable it.
