Try frequently check their website for promo. so u can wait getting em until 1 month prior. same goes with the train passes etc (something tat cant sold out).
last time i gotten Travel Recommend due to any 2 JR pass (ANY, which include JR 1D kansai pass) free pocket wifi service.

1st time uses Travel Recommend so i can collect em at Penang Airport.
2nd time, tat any 2 JR passes offer. coz y not. we just cancel our previous pocket wifi with canceling price coz its still cheaper that way.

the service is good tho, both time never really fail me. except when i went to Nikko, at Ryuzu Fall area. it mountain area with lot of nature neway.

First off thanks for your input. Second, Travel Recommends is also unlimited like Samurai Wifi, did you experience any drops I. Speed?

Hi guys, I am going to Japan in December, got my flight and accommodation setup but I want to ask, what is the best unlimited data wifi provider for trips to Japan.

I checked Samurai Wifi, they have plans that are unlimited and without speed throttling and is reasonably priced, does anyone have here have experience with their services or any other competing brands?
*
i been using Travel Recommend for my trip to Japan and Korea
So far unlimited and stable connection (Tokyo, Kanagawa area should be fine) - and i shared it with 5 devices too, never found any speed throttling (i think for asia countries, you need not to worry about speed throttling)

and now is promo time, which if u use VISA 15% discount or VISA platinum 30% discount for daily rates (standard RM12/day)

i just booked for my trip to Tokyo end of this month at RM8.4/day laugh.gif

That's tempting! How's the battery life? And the quota is unlimited?

Battery life is around 1 day usage (from morning til night) --> so far havent encounter any battery issue (but to be safe, i brought power bank with me always)
As for quota, my previous trips to Japan (Apr-2016) and Korea (Dec-2018) were unlimited, and i believe still unlimited now biggrin.gif

Only China, SEA, Europe countries u will find most plans are not unlimited but have quota of 500mb or so.

For Japan i'll go for pocket wifi like Travel Recommend, since we can share and unlimited

Hi, I'm planning to fly in Tokyo and fly out from Osaka. I planning to buy ICOCA card for the rest of the trip, but the thing is can I get the card in Tokyo? From what I read you only can get the card at Osaka? If that's the case, I just get a SUICA card from Tokyo and it can last for the rest of the trip right?

Also, I'm thinking of taking bullet train/normal train from Tokyo to Osaka. Is there any website I can buy bullet train ticket beside Klook? Any other budget mode of transportation recommendation? Thanks.

Which is why AA is last in my list. Honestly speaking, their service and whatnot is good; the only issue() I have are the seats, legroom and people asking to change seats (or changing the seats without your consent). This is known as "what you pay is what you get" biggrin.gif ...since that 1 time bad experience to Japan, i don't fly AA anymore.

Nikko All Pass covers transportation to Nikko (and back) and rides (transport) inside Nikko. What else you want to know? All you need is on Google.
Also, you can buy the pass at Asakusa's Ekimise station.

Subway unlimited ticket? I assume you're talking about the Metro line 72 hours/ 48 hours/ 24 hours pass. Note that you can only use this pass for all the lines under Metro only. So if you take JR or any other line, you'll need to use your SUICA/ PASMO (for more info, refer to page #1, post #1) - it works like touch N go.

Metro line generally covers within Tokyo, outskirts likely covered by another transport company. You'll need to plan thoroughly in order to maximize the pass usage.

Lastly, Odakyu line is entirely different - it's operated by a company name Odakyu so don't get confused with Metro.

ICOCA you use in Kyoto/ Osaka and PASMO/ SUICA you use in Tokyo: https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2359_003.html

IC card works like a touch n go card. You top up, and then tap tap tap for everything - from train access to convenience store shopping and paying for coin locker (provided they have the system).

If you're travelling from Tokyo to Osaka (and this is also depending on your need), consider the JR pass: https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2361.html
Or are you referring to this pass as Bullet Train Ticket? It's not ya

Which is better? I'm planning to get SUICA as it is available on klook.

Willer is cheap plus they have promo now, only 1000yen per way, but unfortunately, not something my parents want. Any other recommedation? If not last resort will go for bullet train.

JR pass not worth for me IMO, because we didn't go back to Tokyo afterwards.

none is better than another
suica/pasmo/icoca...etc are all touch & go with different design(my 2 cent)...functionality is the same
no need to buy from klook lah, u can get it in airport
the machine to buy the card and reload are all together

from tokyo to osaka only 2 option, bullet train or bus or flight
bullet train is very fast but very expensive and since you're only going 1 way, it's not worth to get JR pass
why not willer express?...it's very comfortable long distance bus

I will only reached airport around 1030pm, can manage to have time to buy card before hop in the train?

Propose them willer express but they do not like it. So bullet train is my last option, but so far many website i saw only selling Nozomi ticket? Also, it is advisable I only buy the ordinary class bullet train ticket when I'm there?
