I'm doing Fushimi another day so I might drop by Uji before or after Nara depending on my timing.
Might also drop it completely if I can't finish Nara in a day.

Does the JR train stop by Uji? Or is it only via Kintetsu?
*
JR do stop by uji
which is why in regentCID's itinerary, it's inari >> uji >> nara
thn later i found out kintetsu also travel there from kyoto but with more stops

QUOTE(Monya Meow Meow @ May 3 2019, 09:43 AM)
Then how about going to Nishiki first in the morning before hitting the temples/shrines?
*
i put kiyomizudera 1st is because nishiki open from 9.30AM but kiyomizudera opens from 6AM
so i plan to hit kiyomizudera and surrounding area 1st before hitting nishiki area
saves me time since i can start earlier

only Keihan n JR iinm. taking Keihan from Fushimi Inari seem need to change train tho.

Kintetsu? if ur goin from Osaka to Nara, skip Uji lo unless u wan make a trip there.
only from Kyoto to Nara, u pass Uji. Uji is closer to Kyoto than Nara.

QUOTE(_ChAoS_ @ May 3 2019, 10:07 AM)
Both JR and non JR trains stops at Uji, but at different locations. One is further away from the other. You'll have to look at GMaps to see which one suits you better.

Also, depending on which pass you decided to use to visit the area. JR is more direct and faster between Fushimi Inari, Uji and Nara, however it's can be more expensive without using passes. If you're using Kansai Thru Pass, you might consider a hybrid where route using both JR (additional fare) and non JR trains.
*
Thanks Fyonne & ChAoS, the plan is to go to Nara during the Osaka part of my trip and my JR Pass would have been activated then.
Will be boarding the train from Tennoji and getting off at JR Nara station.
I will have a look at whether Uji is a convenient stopover or not.

is JR more expensive?
because why everywhere i search, JR seems to be cheaper travelling within the city or outside the city whenever JR is available?
like kyoto station to nara via JR is 710 Yen while kintetsu limited express is 1130 Yen

From my experience it's not always like that though. Kintetsu sometime is more expensive because of the longer distance.

I do have to admit that it's rather subjective. Sometimes, i needed to travel to somewhere outside the city, due to limited routes, JR have to take more station changes (or sometimes even forced to use some non JR station) to reach, resulting in slightly higher cost. While sometimes, because of its direct connection, it's both cheaper and faster. On another case, when a non JR can reach from beginning till the end, i have experienced it being cheaper than compared to a hybrid using both JR and non JR lines to reach.

In the end, you won't know whether it's cheaper or not until you run the numbers via GMaps or Hyperdia in detail... sweat.gif

that's the problem, when i search on gmaps or hyperdia
sometime there are multiple route to each a specific location
maybe got A and B route
when i read itinerary, they use A route
when i search Gmaps and hyperdia, it has another B route that is cheaper sweat.gif

not sure which one to follow laugh.gif

differ from listing to listing(the person who manage it)
if still block mean they haven't release it yet
some listing can book 6 months in advance

I use Hyperdia for planning all my train routes and will normally choose the one that takes the least amount of time, unless the cost difference is huge.
Like what ChAoS mentioned, there are probably 2 or 3 ways from Point A to Point B so choose the one that suits your schedule best.

Anyone who taking Air Asia from Haneda to KLIA, please please please check in and arrive earlier more than 3 hours before flight as you will see a very long line in front counter there.

I had a very scary experience, I reached there at 9pm (my mistake because I go visit my friend in hospital nearby Kamata.) So the line indeed very long , the staff were measuring the carry on weight one by one.

I end up finished checking in at 10.30pm, flight 11.45pm, first time in Japan airport not enough time go duty free shop, duty free shop for those famous brand like Tokyo banana, shiroi koibito, kit Kat, bunmeido, Calbee jagabee pokkuru and a lot more is a must for traveller like us because you don't have to purposely purchase 5400 yen just for duty free, things already duty free there, just the con maybe no stock then no choice liao lor.

Remark: not racist but I really scared of obese people with huge size and big bushy hair to sit beside me in a cramped plane. I still having phobia now seriously.

When reach gate, the staff will not let people with more than two hand carry board the plane unless they stuff their things into their bag make it 2 pieces total.

I didn't buy anything, so I am safe haha, but then when I board the plane, my nightmare come, omg one obese American African lady sat beside me, the chair divider can't even put properly, her legs and butt taking partially of my seat, luckily 3 hours after flight, she willing to upgrade her seat. Thanks God.

Seriously, I rather paid RM 500 more for a full board service like ANA after this experience. You get what you paid, to be honest air asia is not even cheap RM1200 without luggage and food during normal period.

Thanks for reading, kthxbye

Hi guys, I am going to Japan in December, got my flight and accommodation setup but I want to ask, what is the best unlimited data wifi provider for trips to Japan.

I checked Samurai Wifi, they have plans that are unlimited and without speed throttling and is reasonably priced, does anyone have here have experience with their services or any other competing brands?

Try frequently check their website for promo. so u can wait getting em until 1 month prior. same goes with the train passes etc (something tat cant sold out).
last time i gotten Travel Recommend due to any 2 JR pass (ANY, which include JR 1D kansai pass) free pocket wifi service.

1st time uses Travel Recommend so i can collect em at Penang Airport.
2nd time, tat any 2 JR passes offer. coz y not. we just cancel our previous pocket wifi with canceling price coz its still cheaper that way.

the service is good tho, both time never really fail me. except when i went to Nikko, at Ryuzu Fall area. it mountain area with lot of nature neway.

Used Japan NTT Docomo 10 Days (Infinite Data) Travel Prepaid Plan bought from hello1010.my. Good experience. I prefer simcard instead of wifi hotspot since we have to pay for the device if it’s broken during our use

Does anyone has Nikko All Area Pass-Train Schedule for express train?
Search in google, can't find any.
I just need to know what time is the last train depart.

It seems that Nikko All Area Pass only available for local and express train. Limited express train still need to pay.

Anyone can help? Seems no one can reply...
I need to know what time is the last train depart. A train schedule would help.

Also I have brought, subway unlimited ticket via klook,
Does this cover outskirt of tokyo? specifically the one I check via google I need to take Yokohama Line and Odakyu line and Fukutoshin Line.
