I went the opposite way during my trip last Dec. Took the Romance car at 7:27 at Shinjuku arrived to Hakone Yumato at 8:30. Bus ride to Hakone Machi-Ko (9:00) > walk along the Cedar Avenue> Motohakone-Ko and visited the famous Torii Gate>Took the pirate ship to Togendai at 11:00 (saw Mt Fuji along the way)>Up to Owakudani> arrive to Gora (13:00)> took a bus to Gotemba Premium Outlet at 13:50 - shopping > back to Hakone Yumato at 17:00.
So if you leave Gora at 13:00 and ship Gotemba, you can arrive to Hakone Yomuato at 16:00

Hi... Do you stay overnight in Hakone or do a daytrip there? Is it worth staying overnight at Hakone itself? Would a daytrip be a bit too rush though Hakone is not too far away from the city.

No, just a day trip from Tokyo. Travelling with family and not into onsen. Main aim is to see the magnificent Mt Fuji from different location which we did. biggrin.gif
If you like the onsen experience, then should plan to stay overnight. Heard that the ryokan there is expensive and need to book in advance.

I like onsen, but don't really like jumping into the pool with other naked men. rclxub.gif

Haha.. Too costly for me I'm afraid. I'm sure it will be nice to have a private onsen by yourself. Nowadays, you get a lot of naked Chinese nationals talking aloud when you are in the onsens. laugh.gif

Very busy for the past few weeks and only done some study on train pass. It is not worth to buy Hokkaido rail pass for my trip. I had done the calculation as follows ;
CTS to Noboribetsu (1 way 3000 yen), noboribetsu to Toya (1 way 2700 yen), Toya to Sapporo (1 way 5920 yen), sapporo to Asahikawa (round trip 5080 yen). Total about 16,700. (Express train fare). Hokkaido 7 days train pass is 24,000 yen. So decided to use smart card IC but i am not sure which card cover the the train to the places i intend to go (chitose, noboribetsu, toya, sapporo & asahikawa). What i know is Sapica cover only sapporo for subway, buses and streetcars) and kitaca can use for Sapica area and also outside of Sapporo. Can anyone introduce which smart card IC to use ? Which cover the train to the places as mentioned above, subway and buses in Sapporo. Can the card also use for buses within noboribetsu, toya and asahikawa ?

Basically the date of visit to hokkaido is fix. Internet access will use Klook 4G wifi. I go for ANA instead of JAL cause cheaper. Accomodation not decided yet not sure to go for all hotel or mixture with airbnb. Still a long way to go before firm up my itinerary. Hope to hear some comments from sifu here.

As you are buying an oven, you need a very good transformer and not those cheap ones. Can easily cost 10,000yen above.

All IC card accepted in sapporo town. Other than sapporo town station they only accepted cash or ticket.

CTS to Noboribetsu (1 way 3000 yen), noboribetsu to Toya (1 way 2700 yen), Toya to Sapporo (1 way 5920 yen) - you need to purchase ticket from JR counter. Your cost not include the bus fare transit to the town yet and only cash accepted for their bus service. My advice take buses transfer to or from the above village it will save your time and costs.
