2. 3 day + 3 day + 1 day Pass for Tokyo Metro
3. Hakone day pass

Are these passes able to cover all my transport needs in Tokyo?

Not sure if robot restaurant is such a good idea for 4 year old kid. Or kabukicho for that matter cos many of the eateries will be cramped, noisy, smoky izakayas.

ntdote what's shared on Pg1 was merely a guideline. Each person has to adjust it based on their liking, travelling style and companion(s). Don't follow exactly because i can guarantee you won't be able to visit all the places. Pick and choose your priorities, add in your own attraction/ must-do.

That's right! If your family consists of elderly and/or children, there's a lot more prep needed. Just screenshot the Embassy's info and keep it - never know when it can come in handy. Also check out some basic know-hows on what to do during emergency. Japan is prone to natural disaster so the trip could turn up eventful when you least expected it. Thus don't over rely on card, as electronic device may fail during those times (eg. machine unable to accept credit/ debit card etc). Keeping spare cash with you at all times is crucial.

LOLL it's not on Page 1 don't rely 100% on device. Japan is still quite cash-based. Mom and pop shops don't accept cards. Then again, isn't cash always the number 1 backup anywhere?

when the plane door opened, i wasn't the first to exit...but i zigzag thru crowds with 50kmph, passed thru immigration and reached klook counter before 10pm

but don't attempt if you don't have confidence on your speed and evading skills

Hi guys, I am currently planning a family trip to Japan on the last week of December.

My question is, is it too risky if I plan a day or two for ski resorts? What if there is no snow?

Appreciate if anyone can send me their past itinerary for my own research purpose too!

I'm planning Tokyo -> Osaka -> Kyoto -> Any available ski resort at that time then back Tokyo and fly back to Malaysia..
Hmm, seems risky.. Then I think I'll need a backup plan if the snow is insufficient. Hopefully get to experience skiing this year 

i went to osaka during christmas last year. family trip with 70+yo parents. same thing cannot rush. so 1 day 1 place to visit only.
1st day train to Nara,
2nd day train to Himeji,
3rd day train to Inari & Arashiyama Bamboo,
4th day drive to kanazawa,
5th day drive to Shirakawago then stay at Takayama,
6th day drive Shin-Hotaka ropeway
7th day walk around Takayama then drive back to Kyoto,
8th (Christmas Eve) & 9th day walk around Osaka City & Shopping. Christmas Eve walk around Namba area everyone wear christmas stuff lo... you can see a lot japanese girl wear sexy Christmas wear la... but dont think you can see a lot if with your wife la... hehe... & I dont think japan have a lot of firework countdown event. normally just party & go temple like that. maybe some light show to watch. Cox this year i will be in tokyo for New Year ask before but seem dont have firework show unless you go to the theme park like disneyland or USJ.

dont think there will be show in osaka or kobe gua... driving that time should be ok d. i drive till shirakawago & takayama only got snow. not heavy snow la... drive carefully lo... i did use snow tyre la...

anyway i just let you know my itinerary la... mayb different from you. since you wanted to drive i just think sometimes a trip away from major city is also fun & relax d. less crowded also.

I mean taking AA landing in Narita, will just go around Tokyo cos only 1 week.

Initially wanted to go Disneyland and sea, but after googled I think Disney sea next round la not so suitable yet although the only Disney sea in the world is in Tokyo. Huhuhu.

Ueno Zoo already in the list. Ghibli museum, but don't know how to buy ticket yet. No time for shopping.

Any suggestion for accommodation?
