New 1.2.8 will not work for you if you have not been migrated.

If u have, unifi wud hv informed u.

Right now, only new subscribers using new stb and those migrated can use that 1.2.8.

Until u r migrated, u can only use the first version apk, currrenly v7.9.11.

Think u already know this 7.9.11 does not work on AndroidTV like in mibox s but is fine for regular android devices.

this answer form unifi admin, after i ask him where Ch Love Nature 4k on unifi stb. before that, they told me on unifi community official Jan 1 2020 ch Love Nature 4k on air at 502 unifi stb.

My friend recently installed unifi 30Mbps (RM89)
I told him don't forget to ask for the playtv login details from the installer. The installer however told him to get it from TM customer service. He called the hotline and was told to login to playtv via facebook. He did the registration and it worked fine.
On his mi box s however, login via facebook doesn't work, it says 'registration unavailable' after getting the code from sms
I gave him my playtv account details (normal login not facebook) to test and it worked fine.
So I tried registering for him using the non facebook method (username@iptv login) and failed.. forgot what the error msg was.
I told my friend to contact TM and ask them to reset his username/password OR get them to give him his login credentials but the CS said for the RM89 account only facebook login is available and it cannot be used on android box.

is this true?

the apk being used is of course the older tablet version that is still working

It's true that for RM79/89/99 unifi package, there is no xxx@iptv id for new registration. Only those with tv package such as aneka, ruby & etc will get unifi playtv id.

Not necessary to register/login with facebook, phone no. only can too.
Did registerer playtv accounts for friends with RM89 unifi package & non-unifi subscriber with phone no. only, no facebook.

Need to install new playtv version, older apk you'll get error "registration for new account is closed" .. can run on android box. (tried on tx3 & tx6).

unifi playtv is free in that it is given to unifi customers to use.
so, u gotta get the id/pw from a subscriber... max 2 users at a time.

do test with with yr box.... if not mistaken, there have been issues using latest versions on yr box.
