3CA 4G+ Digi i150 in FB group

he got his speed capped after using for 1TB, he was asking someone else who posted an ss of his hwmanager after using 1.3TB data, but the guy he was asking to had no idea, and i think that 1.3TB also accumulated for more than 1 month usage

then this TS claimed if he called up Digi to clarify, and Digi answered him if his speed is being capped because his usage is already above 1TB

but you guys should know, even after the cap, he's still getting 120-127mbps (due to 3CA i guess), and he claimed before the cap it was much faster, but he didnt state how fast

i've used v1.1, v1.3 and v4

the most comfortable to use is v4

what is the problem actually? can you elaborate?

all my personal hmanager screenshot i shared here before is v4, thats how it looks, yes maybe can be categorized as minor difference on the UI, but what i mean the most comfortable to use is because other version such as 1.3 final always crashed/hang if you open for more than several seconds, this is not really a problem if you just wanna change/lock band, but for monitoring purpose its really troublesome to always have to re-run it again everytime it stops, but it doesnt happen on v4

yes, he said during peak hours he's getting below 200 but always above 150, and he also said its not so surprising in his area, because he got 200 mbps for maxis and celcom too, his digi bandwidth 3 is 20mhz

i doubt so, but he said LTE-A is pretty new in his area, about 1 month old, and he lives in some kampung he said, maybe he's the only user there <- this is basically a better theory then calling other people a liar

you do know that all the hundreds of feedback in LYN and those other FB groups are from users right? not from seller

you are so desperate to proof their claims wrong, really, what happened? did any "scalper" hurt you before in the past?

btw that guy who posted the speedtest result that i posted, was asked by some people if thats for real, and he invited those people to go to his house to test it themselves, and no he is not a modem seller, why don't you give it a go? must be very satisfying to proof them wrong right?

for both of my Inifinite 150 i didn't need to call CS to activate VoLTE, it was autoactivated once i put simcard on the phone the first time

and finally i managed to play around with VoLTE on B618, actually can lock band, as long as the "preferred mode" is set to Auto (by default it will be "LTE Only")



if i set LTE only, then it will say IMS status not registered

and @fruitie finally i got to play around and compare, basically the case of 4G+ (LTE-A) will switch back to 4G once we are idle (no internet activity), only happened in older firmware version, @alexchew_2020 actually indirectly pointed this out for me, he said something about 4G+ being easier to lock

so i use 2 different B618s-22d the first one is the older firmware version from my first ever B618, on this one only when there is a bandwidth load then it will switch, this is not good in some of my usage, disconnect me from the server because of that 1 to 2 seconds during the switch, and then i got myself another 22d with newer version, it stays on 4G+ even when i idle for hours

at first i thought its a different modem might cause that, so i update the firmware of my older modem, and then it seriously stays in 4G+ even for 24 hours

yeah we can download global firmware, it doesn't bound to any telco, its usually being used by non-branded modem, those non subsidized RM 1k - RM 1.5k B618

@fruitie yes for general use the switch is not a problem, too bad in my application it means i get kick out of server because of RTO for 1 second

how is the speedtest result when you use phone?

hopefully the signal and everything is good in your place, because in general you will need to always have 7mbps upload speed for a decent 720p60 with 3k to 5k bitrate with OBS
and you will need at least 16mbps upload speed for a decent 1080p60 with 6k bitrate

in my case this is always be the problem, during peak hours the speed became so slow to the point where the download speed is still ok (20-30mbps), but the upload speed will be below those marks

thats the reason i need the best modem to assure i get above that numbers

do note that Celcom first batch was unlocked for all telco too, but along the way they decided to change their mind about it, so there is no guarantee in the future 65D from TM won't do the same

it's true, you can try to dig more info from other forums or FB group how to safeguard your investment for sure so it will not get locked in the future

agree with you, and many give 5 star ratings right after they receive the item, so that 5 star rating only to validate the seller is not a scam, but it doesnt really represent the quality of the product

i stayed in i-city yesterday, digi is extremely bad there, even worse than my area

with phone, auto connect to band 3 giving me 0.2mbps download

band 3 using B618 only can get 2-3mbps download

band 7 only 2 bars and and -9 SINR (never seen this worse)

band 8 is 4 bars but getting 4-5mbps

i'm too lazy to dig my old post right now but that's what i experienced too

but some people firmly believe the only CA digi has is 3+7

i think its in your area only not in general, because in my current area which is a non-unifi area, celcom does 100-130mbps all the time, while my digi averaging 60-80mbps only at off peak time (midnight++)

if both works at their most optimal, yeah digi will still win because its cheaper
