Celcom Home Wifi? I heard Celcom home Wifi is cap.
*
no, just a normal prepaid celcom, recently they have unlimited internet offering, it is expensive, the cheapest one is RM8 for 24hours

but it does solve my problem, because i need fast and reliable internet at certain time which is at peak hours that my digi fails to deliver

The prepaid unlimited data cannot use for hotspot.
And yes, it's somewhat expensive.
Celcom Home wireless has limited quota. It's a stupid plan suitable for one/two person and YouTuber only.

i use hotspot, you know we have this magic number 618 biggrin.gif

Hi all, question for those using roam like home service on Infinite 150 plan while oversea. Do you use it with your phone? Or plug in the sim card in a mifi modem which can manually select the supported telco?

If using mifi modem, any model to recommend? Thanks.
*
i used it in my phones, all the phones i've used can manual select telco, i doubt there is a phone that cant manual select

It's Celcom prepaid unlimited pass that cannot use hotspot.
Please don't boast 618 could do anything unless the B618 is modded for specific usage.
*
actually it is not about modded modem, but since you asked me nicely, so i wont say anything anymore about it

Weird. Mine capped 5mbps UL & DL.
Once add-ons over will recheck again. I'm pretty positive my place network are not congested.

Just tried port out from digi infinite, wonder whether they will call the digi infinite number or not? But I put that number in modem...
*
just keep checking your SMS, they would send something like this "RM0: Our attempts to contact you were unsuccessful. Please call us @ 0162211800 for further updates on your enquiry. Thank you-Digi"

so update on mine:

- 15th August 2019 (Thursday) 5AM++ request port out from U-Mobile website to P99 (online promo RM89 a month), my Digi bill all paid out, 0 due.

- 15th August 2019 around the same time, received email from U-Mobile, acknowledging the request and detailing all the order details.

- 15th August 2019 3:56PM, received email from U-Mobile saying SIM Card on its way

- 16th August 2019 (Friday) probably around afternoon, received GDEX containing U-Mobile Move Onz Starter Kit

- 19th August 2019 (Monday) 3:57PM, received email from U-Mobile saying SIM Card delivered

- 20th August 2019 (Tuesday) now = no call from Digi telemarketer (no failed called notification SMS too), no email from Digi, no SMS confirmation that ask to send Y if I confirm want to port out biggrin.gif

From one of the FB group that i just recently read, probably yesterday, someone port out request was denied by Digi, but he received an email telling him that his request was denied, while i havent receive anything.

more information about my Digi number that i tried to port out, it is on i150, the number is supposed to be 5 months old (started using on April this year), and has been on i150 since day 1

Will try to live chat Digi to ask about my port status later today biggrin.gif

Another finding today, it does download torrent at full speed magically, but only when i'm not on 4G+, it was locked on Band 3, not so sure about other band, didnt try. So thats all for now icon_rolleyes.gif

Would like to confirm whether this is true, I read on the FB group about Infinite 150 users getting RM50 rebate, therefore paying RM100 + SST. Last time I got the RM20 x 6 months rebate, way back in 2017.
*
yeap so many already got it, its permanent (lifetime) RM 50 deduction, the package name change to i100(s) -> do note there is an "s" that stand for special maybe, because original i100 has some limitation such as speed cap or tethering data limit, while i100(s) is just like i150 with cheaper price

but to be honest from what i read those people who got it are those who have been using i150 for years, i was only expecting to get an original i80 or i100 with slightly cheaper price from this my 5 month old number.

and when i'm ready, i will try to port out my several years old Digi number (that have been using i150 for at least 2 years now) to get a better offer.

and i recently open Digi website, there is a "redesign" on infinite section

Attached Image

and not so sure if this one still valid (old ss which i need to dig out again where is the link to this page)

you should, not sure if it bothers you or not, but it bothers me knowing i'm paying RM50 more expensive each month than others for the same service bangwall.gif

It does bother me but what are the chances to get? I really don't want end up without anything. laugh.gif
*
if only based on whatever i read so far, your chance is really really high, besides, there is nothing to lose

because the offer will come in during the time after you made port out request but before you make a confirmation of you want to leave Digi through SMS, this part:

Attached Image

as long as you don't reply to the SMS, you wont be ported out even though you already received the U-Mobile simcard at home.

and one more tips that i understand from other people case, the Digi telemarketer will be referring to 2 things, your monthly average usage and the plan that you chose in U-Mobile website when you request to MNP

i remember you said your monthly data usage is very low, so there is a high chance they will offer you something cheaper but not unlimited plan, but the data cap will be around your usage, so in order to get around this offer, some people generally do either one of these 2 things depending on what telemarketer offer:

A. is to give excuse that you have currently have existing broadband that you can terminate soon because the contract is ending (just say next month), so you can argue for sure your usual usage will be higher than how it was in the past, so non-unlimited plan is not an option for you

B. is to argue if the telco that you porting in to (u-mobile in most ppl case) is offering a better price with the same high speed and unlimited

but seriously, for your case, a long loyal customer, if they dont give you the best offer, what kind of company they are shakehead.gif

Got it. I will do it then and proceed with call forwarding to my mobile phone as I leave the no. at home, scared they will call during working hours.

My usage is not fixed, if I'm travelling and not in the country, around 50GB. If I'm around, can be 100GB or more. So, let's see what can they offer. If let's say the don't offer any competitive plan, I will just cancel MNP and continue sticking with them. Such ironic. bangwall.gif
*
they will most likely offer something with around 150GB data

i read in reddit, from one of ex Digi customer service, he said Digi and other telco has customer retention department, it will be looking really bad when they lose a long-time customer, they would do pretty much anything they can to make sure you dont leave, and from what i understand now they are hating to see if their customer is leaving them for U-Mobile, not sure why

I still have other no. with Digi, so I'm still their customer. tongue.gif
Anyway, my Digi contact forgot to check earlier when I followed up with her, let's see if I will have an easier route. Otherwise I will just MNP.

What's this 150GB plan? Is there such a plan? hmm.gif
*
apparently their customer retention dept can just simply offer something that is not on the "shelf", just like that i100(s), i should have save all those weird plan screenshot people get from trying to port out, maybe later i will dig back, or maybe alex can help biggrin.gif

I stream a lot these days but if cheap 150GB plan why not? Anyway, will wait for a few days before MNP-ing out.
*
true, but so far the best value plan that i saw people get is definitely that i100(s), 2nd best which is also the cheapest is i80 with RM30 lifetime rebate, so the first one is basically i150 that you pay RM100, the second one is i80 that you pay RM50

ppl say around 3 days if you do it online, and much faster if you walk in to u-mobile counter, but i cant speak through experience since i applied online and near the weekend, and its been 5 days they havent contacted me laugh.gif

btw to also update my status again, they finally sent me SMS by 8pm+ just now

since it was already after work hours, i guess i should expect them to call me tomorrow
