QUOTE(destiny017 @ May 26 2020, 11:41 PM) 480p is lowest I would go when you need to live stream channels from other regions to keep the stream consistent. For regional live content in Asia I would not settle for lower than 720p. VOD content the highest I would go is 1080p. 4K contents are still very limited and rare. |

Hello guys, I learned recently that TPlink MR600 now has beta firmware that should be able to manually select/lock band for example lock B5/B38/B40 for Unifi Air or manual 4G+ CA with B3+B7 for Digi i150 users
https://www.tp-link.com/my/home-networking/...i/archer-mr600/ https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum...c/205912?page=1 https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum...c/193174?page=4 (scroll to post #41 for test results) however beta firmware is for EU model only right now, and I don't have the device to test. Not sure works or not on MR600 MYset. According to TPLink website, MYset use EU V1 firmware which should be able to test this Beta firmware. https://www.tp-link.com/my/support/download/archer-mr600/ TP-Link MR600 has very good spec and support most telco in MY and tplink has 3 year local warranty which is excellent. But people sleeps on their router and mifi coz unable to lock band like Huawei. If MR600 (MY set) soon be able to get lock band feature. I think this model will be good alternative to B618s and B818 for power users. Priced is RM500 right now This post has been edited by evilsmile: Jun 2 2020, 11:44 AM |

How is Digi Infinite 150? Most importantly the speed?
I'm currently on Postpaid plan and I don't use it much because I'm connected to Unifi 100 at home most of the time, but already paying RM139 for unifi. I don't even watch hyppTV. Thinking of ditching Unifi altogether and just use Digi Infinite for everything. But I need wifi hotspot for my home without keeping my phone hotspot switched on at all times. Perfect for one person or sometimes two. Not so okay for many ppl usage. |

QUOTE(J1g54w @ Jun 3 2020, 09:50 AM) How is Digi Infinite 150? Most importantly the speed? I’m a Digi Infinite 150 user for more than 2 years now. I'm currently on Postpaid plan and I don't use it much because I'm connected to Unifi 100 at home most of the time, but already paying RM139 for unifi. I don't even watch hyppTV. Speed is very dependant on location. In KL where I live, the speed is just so-so despite this is a Digi 4G+ area and I can see the 4G+ signal in my Huawei B618-65D account management portal. However, when it is used with the Huawei B618-65D, speed is constant at 30Mbps and I can stream 1080p video on my LG Smart TV, stream another 1080p YouTube video on my iPad and do general browsing on websites on my iPhone. Basically you can say at a constant speed of 30Mbps, there is no problem for 3 users to connect to the same internet at the same time. Prior to getting the Huawei B618-65D modem router, I used an old Huawei phone as hotspot. It was okay as it was usable. But otherwise, Huawei B618-65D did make a huge difference with the markedly faster and consistent speed. I am still using Digi Infinite 150 now but I very rarely use its hotspot feature nowadays as I have a Maxis Fibre that my dad installs at our house because he wants unlimited Maxis mobile data for his own use. So I use the Maxis Fibre mostly at home now. But otherwise, do get the Huawei B618-65D modem router. Upfront cost is on the high side but it’s worth every single penny. |

QUOTE(J1g54w @ Jun 3 2020, 12:12 PM) The latency and consistent speed, wireless broadband cannot fight with fixed broadband.FYI, I switched from UniFi to Digi Infinite 150, got it since it was launched back in 2017. I'm using it alone, so I don't feel anything as the speed is very good >150Mbps at my area. The reason why I switched was due to I'm always travelling and not stagnant at one place. This UniFi account was relocated to my sister's house in Seremban. I'm back in her house before MCO started and been working from home all the time, the connection has been superb and everything is stable. It is on 500Mbps though. On another hand, I read from this thread, due to MCO/CMCO, Digi did start implementing speed capped after 300GB (can be reset by calling CS) vs 1TB before MCO. Also, some experienced throttled speed for social media, I really hope it is temporary as I will start using back Digi Infinite once this CMCO is lifted. I will need to go back to PJ. Sounds like CMCO affects a lot of networks since majority are stuck at home. Thanks for the advice! FYI, I switched from UniFi to Digi Infinite 150, got it since it was launched back in 2017. Last month during MCO, I use total 4.5 TB in a month. Haha! Anyway in normal circumstance, 2 TB is enough for me per month. 1 TB is a way too little frank speak.
