Hello.

I need some info here. I live in a house that has TM Unifi's externally laid fibre optic cable but I'm going to subscribe TIME soon.

May I know if this TM fibre optic still can use? Or need use TIME's? Any additional cost I need to pay??
*
Please provide more info.

1) Is this landed property or Condo/Apartment ? Please provide the name.
2) What do you mean externally laid fibre optic ? Do you mean the fibre laid from outside the house into your unit ?

If this fibre is prelaid by your property developer then it can be used.

Those having Los red light blinking issue, how was it resolved. Have already called Time but they can only send a technician on Tuesday.

Been using their service last ten years, I stay at vista komanwel bukit jalil, this is the first time I'm having issue with their service.

All was working fine, then suddenly the Los started blinking, and no service now.

Did the usual Huawei modem troubleshooting with the help desk, still having issue

Thanks for your reply.

1) It's a Condo in Segambut.
2) Yes, that's correct. Earlier TM Unifi offered to install optic fibre (50 Metres) for my unit for free and no renew of contract, so I accepted.
Now I need to change to TIME, but a bit worried, if I can use back the same optic fibre then OK, if not I need to *remove the current one and let TIME install the new cable.

*Remove by my own because I think TIME will charge extra fees for removal, right?

What do you suggest in my case?

Thank you.

Truthfully there isnt much you can do as it requires optic fiber tools to check & rectify the issue.

What you can check is to see if there is any bending/snap on the fibre cable/patch cord, try loosen & straighten it.

Thanks.

Hi, I presume the condo is not prelaid with fibre infra. I'm sorry you cant use back the same fibre, unless the FTB that sits inside the riser room is next to TIME's FTB, then perhaps you can reuse it back to minimize the trouble of re-cabling.

TIME's SI basically will just lay a new fibre to your house, 20m is free from the Point-Of-entry until the drop point of the ONU/ONT, subsequently there is a RM10/m.
If you wish to remove the existing cable, you may discuss with the SI on the extra cost.

Thanks.

Thanks for the info bro. One more question, Time is still not allowed to tap into landed service for KL/Selangor area?

Thanks for the info! Btw what does FTB mean?

Really hope no need of re-cabling, another round of hassle to install and wall drilling...

I have another question: How much TIME normally charge for relocation fees? Let's say house moving around Klang Valley.

Thanks.

hi guys,

need some advice on my place's wifi performance. currently i'm using DIR-882 and would like to know the best way to get >200mbps in every corner of my place. blue denotes places where I can get >300mbps, yellow denotes places where I can get around 20-80mbps, and red denotes zones that are less than 10mbps or 0 signal straight away. the green box is where i have my wifi router placed at the moment.

i'm considering either changing my router to DIR-X5460 or adding wifi mesh COVR-1100 in each room. i'm also wondering if the new huawei ont + wifi mesh can improve the coverage as well? i would like your suggestion or opinion on improving the wifi coverage and speed for the place. thanks

Align with your speed requirement, do consider to have ethernet backhaul.
If that is not possible, then go for mesh system which has a dedicated wireless backhaul.
